There were two tables of crowing scum in my local last night, all grown men over 50 and two of them wearing the shirt and crowing. Bear in mind this is a small pub in Berkshire on a Thursday night.

Snippets I heard before I'd had one too many and started goading them with six in a row etc, were that the fans were finally "getting the backing they've always deserved" that they'd be "in for Mbappe" and Shearer was coming in as director of football. After that gem I pointed out that he'd relegated them in his last stint at the club and called them clowns before a couple of them came over and told me to fuck off.

Youd think if they were serious about success thered be no room for sentimentality. Shearer and Keegan are busted flushes in management, Keegan in particular is a relic. Wheel him out for fan events but it would be outrageous to give them any serious clout at this stage.
