Wonder how the racist Geordie cavemen are feeling today. Will they have a prurtest about the islamification of the club shop ?

Biffo the bear makes some fair points in this thread like. Not all mags are weird fuckers, in fact it’s only a small minority, most of them are just like us, decent hard working people who like a pint and a laugh.
Exactly, mad how people think there's some sort of genuine defined difference from a set of people 12 miles apart, which basically blend in to one when you take Washington etc into account

Correct. That is because you are trying to paint the majority by the behaviour of the minority. Whilst that may fit your narrative it doesn’t represent reality.
You set the narrative, safe to say Sunderland and newcastle fans are not the same 👍

There is a difference in attitude though, caused by being brought up told how amazing 'the toon' is. They go on and on about an airport ffs. They have a real need to be loved.

It's one-upmanship, every club has fans that do it. If the airport was called Sunderland Airport there would be a set of fans who would go on about it I'm sure

This for me. People from the north east are very similar in the main, but throw football into the mix and it's like flipping a switch.

Mags have their heads so far up their own arse it's unreal and I'm yet to meet one that doesn't think 'the toon' is the centre of the universe. I'd take being the poor relation for the next 20 year before being associated with that lot.

As a southerner that has lived up north for approx 10yrs 95-2005 and has good friends that support both clubs I would definitely say deep down we are the same. Living and breathing football, passionate and honest. I would also say they have a larger contingent of absolute morons that still live off an era where they competed at the top. Feel like those heady days of the mid 90s were their god given right.
