Not sure it's quite the same. Michael Dell has been in hot water over unpaid taxes (now paid) but I think that pales in comparison

There's a big difference to what's happening now though, football is becoming a political warzone, it's like someone complaining about the Brexit lies and someone saying well politicians have always lied, whilst thats true it's now at such a level that it's costing people far more than it ever has and the same is happening with our clubs, every year they become less about the fans and more about the international market, that's what international competition is for, the premier League is becoming and international playground for states to arm wrestle.

We're going to be able to offer something they won't be and that is pathway. There's already a clear change in mentality in younger players in big team Academies. We've only just set off down this path and we've already been taking prospects from Spurs and Leeds, once the model is fully operational it will be a massive feather in our cap and we'll continue to be able to attract top coaches and top talent regardless of how much the Mags' fortunes improve.

Where has the £250m over 5 years came from? Is that on top of premier league money as nearly all the teams spend 50m every season in the prem

Aye, there was a piece in The Athletic over a year ago, Staveley talking about root and branch approach.

They’ll do well to improve on the AOL set up, the smoggies academy aren’t too bad either. Look at Leicesters academy/training ground, brilliant but cost a fortune. Do you think that Leicester will dominate their region for picking up youth? I’m not so sure. Obviously it helps to improve prospects but the AOL is great so I wouldn’t worry too much.
