This is canny, you think the players are going to down tools because some of them won't be here next season? What do you think is more likely? Downing tools and getting relegated and being binned off to Derby or wherever. Or, working your bollocks on the off chance the manager wants to keep you around because you're a dependable pro?

not every player is a “dependable pro” though. Any SAFC fan knows this only too well

Success to an extent, we could never compete with Manchester City for example. It will be alot worse when they're on the doorstep.

We're competing with Newcastle though, and they have a long way to go before their infrastructure is on the level of top clubs.

Our reputation and stature means that as long as we continue to give kids a pathway to the first team and produce noteworthy players, we'll still be a pull for young local lads. Yes, Newcastle will be ahead of us as a club, but they've been ahead of us as a club for more or less thirty years. We've still produced PL players and England internationals, and we can obviously do better as well.

We are gonna lose a massive generation of fans like, massive kick in the balls long term. We will be lucky to get 20000 in 10 years time, regardless of our league

And they didn’t get anywhere with it. And now they’ve had to reign it right back because of how much they’ve spent without increasing revenue.

Could happen to anyone who tries to buy the league. You really need to get it right.

I never said money guarantees anything. I just mentioned that Everton were able to spend £500m on new players over 5 seasons despite not being in Europe.

Dry ya fanny man. You honestly think they’re going to have hugely improved infrastructure across the board, the best players and managers in the country and we’ll simply be mid table championship in 5 years time?

I’ve never said once I think they’ll have the best players and be a Man City mind. I think they’ll be nowhere near those levels and have to get through this year first before even thinking to push on to push even an Everton at best.

I just think they’ll massively invest in their facilities & youth set up and therefore they’ll be the place to be for young players in the region.
