I can fully understand the mags huge ego today, we would be exactly the same
It’s not up to Newcastle to put the world to rights as no other country gives a shit about human rights in Saudi now anyway, so why should it be a problem now.
Hopefully they bankroll the club, it goes bust and Mike Ashley buys it back for 50p
Class how quickly they are guna piss on all other clubs now mind, doesn’t take long for the common sense to go out the window and the arrogance comes spilling out.
Why bother then

Just spoke to my mag brother in law. Apparently CL within 3 seasons, SAFC will lose thousands of fans as a result of this and Conte is on his way. Basically all other teams should just give up and submit to Queen Mandy and Co.
I almost feel that if thousands of fans are ready to jump ship like that then let them. We are in league 1 anyway, I feel like the fickle will have already given up on us.

I genuinely can't see where they've even been remotely lucky. Under achieved if anything.
Aye, easier than us though but not lucky, that's on the f*ckwittery we've been inflicted with rather than anything they've done, which is the most galling thing about it. There for the taking with Ashley but coincided with idiocy in our boardroom. NE football is in the doldrums really and it'd be nice for the local media to reflect that. Has it ever been worse than one club in a top flight relegation battle at best, one making up the numers in the second tier, us struggling to get out the third and until recently Hartlepool and Darlington out the leauge?

Can anyone remember the feigned moral outrage from Newcastle fans whe di canio baca me our manager. No moral high ground for them ever again. I think I will be more trouble than it’s worth for them.
The Saudis must have bought the premier league a nice car etc. I'd rather remain in 3rd division forever producing local players than be owned by those horrible bastards stavely and crown prince Mo.

There's a good article a bit further back in the thread comparing Everton and why they're having to stay within FFP while it looks like the likes of City and Chelsea don't.

Short answer is those clubs don't just ignore it, their ceiling is higher because they have far greater income from the Champions League, sponsor revenue (shady as some of it may be), and their academies churning out players who've never been near the first team for loan or sale. Man City made £11m from Sancho's move to Man Utd, for example. Not sure about this season but it's not long since Chelsea had 30+ players out on loan. They'll all be generating income.

As Everton are finding, having the money and spending it are two different things.

Everton have spent more than £500m on new players in the past 5 years!

absolutely shocking that mind.

Mind blowing all this

It is shocking but not surprising. No one will ever hold Saudi Arabia accountable in the western world because they're too entrenched in our business and we're too reliant on them as 'allies'.

Says it all really that it was only a TV rights deal that almost stopped it going ahead - not the murder of a journalist.

Their worst period is that much worse then our best in that time.
Aye but you have to remember that we have been spectacularly bad compared to what we have spent. Maybe the worst club in England pound for pound over that time. They have probably underacheived with the odd very good season.
