Sell off/release the older players and hoover up early 20s talent from places like France, Netherlands, Spain, etc. A bit like Sunderland have done this year but at a higher level

Well, the manager, for a f***ing start.

I'd say we'd need defenders, and a centre mid, and a backup striker. Now, if we can only spend £50m in the first window, then personally I'd push for a defensive overhaul.

It's not just buying Man Utd for billions, they'd have to invest hundreds of millions on top of that and they'd see little to no return. Buy us for comparative buttons, invest in real estate and commercial deals loosely tied to the club and they'll see returns AND get their sportswashing done.

Depends how you define extremely wealthy and big. Aston Villa and Everton are bigger clubs but they also have extremely wealthy owners, there isn’t really the media frenzy around them though.
 
One quite funny side effect is seeing Simon Jordan backtracking 😂 what a gobshite that bloke is. States his opinion as fact ‘deal is dead’ ‘Saudis no longer interested’ etc. What a surprise turns out he knew sweet FA like anyone else

You seem to have a load of defenders that are mediocre, I couldn’t tell you out of Lascelles, Schar, Fernandez and Clark are the best 2, as they always seem to rotate. A backup striker would be key yeah, but it’s a difficult task to go into. You always have the issue of mediocre players on long term deals, i think even paying their contracts out counts towards FFP regulations, so you are curtailed in that respect.
 
Let's be honest something like this always had a decent chance of happening. Like it or not Newcastle are one of the best supported clubs around mainly due to them being a 1 city club a bit like us tbh

They were always going to be an attractive club to buy for someone with mega money behind them.

The problem they have though long term is trying to break in to the top 7 or 8. man utd, man city, Liverpool, Chelsea are huge football clubs who already have years of a head start. You also have the likes of spurs arsenal Everton Leicester.

I don't care what anyone says London and the north west will always have a bigger pull to top footballers and their wives. That will always work against them.

It's a sad state of affairs mind when the local media and politicians don't give a fuck about the type of people that are buying the club. Almost pleading with the government and premier League to let the barbaric regime in.

I don't think the Saudis will be happy to just make up the numbers in the premier League, they will have ambition I'm sure but doing it these days with ffp etc is a different matter

The best depends on how we're set up. Schar is classy, but struggles in a flat back four. I'd probably say Fernandez and Clark? It's a low bar though.
