What was the honest candid reply ?Luke Edwards did on 5Live last night.
For context, there are houses within half a mile of me which would cost at least twice as much as anything within a 50 mile radius of Newcastle. We're talking £2.5m for a large urban detached house (late 1900's) with a reasonably sized garden (no extensive grounds). And this is Bristol, not Manchester or London. Newcastle is fine as a city, in its way. But that way is brash, cheap and cheerful. PL footballers (or, more specifically, their wives and girlfriends) are about conspicuous consumption.
How have they got round the premier league?
Wait till they find out the Saudis chop people heads and arms off. They love a good stoning as well.At least the mags I work with can now stop pretending to care about Ashley's treatment of his staff... "nothing to do with his handling of wa club, I just can't get behind the blurk when his staff are on zero hour contracts"
Hoy a bit of money around and it's "we want saudi"
What was the honest candid reply ?
Saudis promised they won't be involved in running the club.
They have just spent a billion quid to get an obstacle out of the way. I think you are kidding yourself mate. There are bigger clubs in the Premier League to do a Manchester City with. I would bet that they chose Newcastle because they were impressed by their ability to sustain Premier League football on a modest budget. I'd expect it to be a continuation of the same, more than anything. It's not actually football they're interested in.
Ah, the lad who, for the past 18 months has been saying the takeover will never go ahead.Luke Edwards
They didnt have to did they? They can run it if they want?
The beauty is, it’s not possible to do a Man City anymore due to fair play regulations, they’ll do what Everton have done last 4 years IMO.
That's nowt to do with their football aspirations if they even have any. They have just spent a billion quid to get an obstacle out of the way. I think you are kidding yourself mate.
Wonder if they will have a Saudi day?
May order a load of red tea towels make a fortune selling them in town.
Ah, the lad who, for the past 18 months has been saying the takeover will never go ahead.
I'm sure the extra in their wage will convince them to join. As it always has.For context, there are houses within half a mile of me which would cost at least twice as much as anything within a 50 mile radius of Newcastle. Different rules in England.3 letters. PSG.
I'm sure the extra in their wage will convince them to join. As it always has.
fwiw, there are houses in Morpeth and Ponteland that'd go for north of £2.5m.
They didnt have to did they? They can run it if they want?
Ah fuck em I'm enjoying this season and what we're building and the way we're doing it. To be honest I have fuck all interest in the prem until we're back in it. Ah that point I'll worry about what may or may not have happened.
There was a video clip not that long ago with Griezmann and Mbappe on a plane. Griezmann tells mbappe that he signed him for Newcastle on football manager. Mbappes reaction said it all. Absolutely no chance will they ever sign that kind of player, basically because of geography.
For all those that say money talks it does, but if someone of that calibre is available then all the top clubs are offering those wages. He's does not choose the North east of England to live!
