One last point before i go to bed. People worrying that the mags become one of the top sides in the premier league. Man city, chelsea, man united. What do they have in common? Answer: as shit was we have been we have beaten them all in our last couple of seasons in the premier league and we will beat the mags again too. Goodnight.

The Saudis can’t be seen to be behind Citys owners for long.
I think you’ll move grounds or they’ll hoy so much money into developments on the councils patch that they’ll be allowed to shift those houses somewhere else brick by brick AND buy the ground off the council. Mbappe to get in touch with his Geordie roots?
Aye I'm sure Mbappe would love the Garter on a Friday night like! Took Man City years to find the right formula, and that was before Liverpool got to where they are now and Chelsea are right back at it now. It's gonna take time if it happens

Surely the fund is intrinsically linked to the State?

How can they say it isnt?

I hope they target Mbappe to build the team around - he seems a bit of a knacker.
What would hurt me is if they got Haaland.

We’ve got some serious lack of backbone from some of supporters when it comes to the great unwashed mind.

Growing up in South Shields in the early to mid 90’s was a nightmare when the mags we’re signing household names.

Didn’t dampen my enthusiasm for SAFC or worry me one bit what they did… we could always be shite but I’ll be happy to my dying day I was brought up Sunlun and not to support them deluded tossers
Good man.

Its got absolutely nowt to do with backbone. And nor will current SAFC supporters have their enthusiasm for our club dampened regardless of what they do.

It’s merely a point about the future. As you mentioned, the early 90s saw SAFC lose a generation in places like Shields. Where I’m from was similarly affected. If that was to be repeated again whilst we are simultaneously trying to get more of a foothold within Co Durham and border territory and whilst trying to make our club more financially sustainable in the long term then it would very obviously be detrimental to the success of our club. It’s a competitive technological world we live in and that already makes it challenging when trying to get young people into the game. If there’s a big spending club on the doorstep playing at a high level whilst we’re knocking about in the second or third division we become a less attractive proposition. I’d hope our club owners would understand that too.

I do get where you’re coming from, however I’m very relaxed and enjoying what I’m seeing from the set up we have with KLD and those advising him not to worry about the mags being taken over.

It’s a very different landscape to when Man City were bought so worrying about what is going on up the road and what may or may not happen as no bearing on us at present.

I back our support every time and was just trying to point out attendances won’t drop dramatically regardless of us being in league one or the championship next season.

The damage was really done during the 15, 19, and back to back relegation seasons.

The issues that blocked the deal have been worked out
Can't "work out" regime sponsored murder of journalists.

I find it incredible that so called journo's are feigning over this takeover when one of them has ended up in pieces because he dared challenge their ideology

I’ve scanned and can’t se a thread but apologies if I’m being an idiot. Takeover done by tomorrow according to the BBC

Well you never really know but ultimately the fund is setup to make money, they invested huge sums in big businesses following the COVID crash I believe.

Obviously they'll have to invest in the club, but it makes you wonder how much they're willing to invest. You already make profit and as far as I'm aware won't have any debt (only to Ashley?), so do they keep things ticking on as is, or invest billions like Man City, but then what's the ultimate goal? It costs a lot of money to stay on top. Look at Barca.
Let's get real eh! They aren't buying them to finish 5th or 6th. I've worked in the middle East and the Arabs are competitive amongs their fellow member states. They will be going head on with Man City so if it comes off, we may as well get used to it!

So MBS orders the murder and dismembering of a critical journalist but somehow still passes the FA's 'fit and proper person's' test.

It makes you wonder what you must have to have done to fail that test.
Surely the most inaccurately named test in the world like.

The local media journalists who report for the national papers are showing their true colours tonight. They basically couldn't give a flying fuck that the mags are about to be owned by a murderous barbaric horrific torturous regime.

Absolutely shameful, not 1 of them will stand up and be counted and tell it how it is. They are a f***ing arse licking want to be loved disgrace.
