Have you set up a Strava/MapMyWalk for people to follow? People enjoy that stuff! Thanks to @Mr Redknapp @mux @becs @NorthCountryBoy for their donations❤
I will try updating here more as I go, just adapting to things in the early days as it is very exhausting doing the walk and then working full time job around it as well as booking hotels etc on the go.
Monday I got to Hartlepool, then Thursday got to Middlesbrough, Friday to Yarm and then yesterday to Northallerton. I have taken a rest day today, feet are killing
Tomorrow I am likely going from Northallerton to Harrogate depending how I hold up after rest day, but hopefully should be very refreshed for that longer walking day.
If your feet are aching do you really think Northallerton to Harrogate in one go is sensible? It’s double the distance you’ve managed on any of the other days so far. Thanks to @Mr Redknapp @mux @becs @NorthCountryBoy for their donations❤

As I said chief, small targets. Doesn't matter how fit you are, it's a complex change for your body. It will adapt but don't overdo it otherwise you'll fuck your feet and your hip abductor will go.Thanks to @Mr Redknapp @mux @becs @NorthCountryBoy for their donations❤

Good advice. As I said chief, small targets. Doesn't matter how fit you are, it's a complex change for your body. It will adapt but don't overdo it otherwise you'll fuck your feet and your hip abductor will go.
Just do what you can do and don't plan ahead too much. Your body will adapt but you need to give it the time. Eat as well as you can, and rest every three days to begin with. It'll happen, don't push it, you're never going to hit the ground running with weight on your back.
What a great post.Thought of youth hostels? I think, as a multiple cancer survivor, what you are doing is wonderful and some 54 years ago I cycled from Sunderland to Lands End and back and used the YHA. They are still great as I understand.
As an old man who when he last got on a bike thought my knees were exploding I can no longer imagine being as fit and young and vital as you must be.
You will do it.
I wish you the very best and know you will have memories that will sustain you though your lifetime.
I haven't mate, have posted my route and pics etc on my business Facebook pageHave you set up a Strava/MapMyWalk for people to follow? People enjoy that stuff!
Aye you are probably right, will see how it goes, can always stay in Ripon if feet knack. Feel a new man after rest day thoughIf your feet are aching do you really think Northallerton to Harrogate in one go is sensible? It’s double the distance you’ve managed on any of the other days so far.
Don’t fuck your feet up, build into it gradually. Try and get fitted out with some comfortable trainers or walking boots if you reach a town.
Aim for Ripon and see how you feel.
And good luck marra.
Good shout mate, Friday I only did about 12 mile and listened to body.As I said chief, small targets. Doesn't matter how fit you are, it's a complex change for your body. It will adapt but don't overdo it otherwise you'll fuck your feet and your hip abductor will go.

Not sure exactly yet mate, I am already foreseeing problems going through peak district, so going to move things a little more went in a few days. Whatever happens I will be close to stoke and go through Bristol at some stage. What’s your route ? Not the top bit but when you enter the jewel in the crown ?
Thank you mate, really appreciate it. I may get a youth hostel, I just fear that they may not be ideal when I get my laptop out to work on a nightThought of youth hostels? I’m buzzing here mate this is properly exciting. If you put a vague plan of your next few days up the power of the smb might be able to organise some assistance I’m sure, we’ve got people everywhere!!I haven't mate, have posted my route and pics etc on my business Facebook page![]()

Hoping for some good weather for you this weekend marraCurrently in Oldham having a full English before another day of walking. Walking between 12-20 miles per day and then booking hotel.
Had an incredible hotel bed and breakfast for £50 in Halifax other night. Owner was telling me hotels would rather drop price than have empty room, so can get good deals booking on day like I did.
Spoke to a Taxi driver in Harrogate who picked Lee Johnson up the day of our cancelled pre season game this summer. Will do a proper post on pure football, but essentially when Johnson was out of work he asked Pep to come watch training and he did. He has lots of contacts at city and also said he just needs to sort back 4 then we will get promoted.
Cheers mate.Hoping for some good weather for you this weekend marra
Good man, going well!Cheers mate.

How are the feet coping? How are you holding up in general? Any gruesome details?Cheers mate.

I have tried twice to donate but not the best on the phone. If both payments go through, walk twice as fast, if neither go through I’ll try again in a week or so.
I found out this morning a great family friend died from cancer then saw your thread, so appropriate and coincidental, best wishes.
