You really are the worst kind of c@nt, go and play with the traffic... preferably at Four Lane Ends... near the petrol station

Irrespective of what the Mags think, the elephant in the room is that Saudi Arabia is, to all intents and purposes, an absolute monarchy. What this means is that the Sheikh and the state are effectively the same person. It's not a democracy in any sense of the word. It's therefore pretty much impossible to show that PiF (which effectively performs the same role that MSD does for Michael Dell) is in any way independent of the Saudi royal family. It really can't demonstrate that its funds are separate from KSA, as it's indistinguishable from the royal family as individuals. It's all a bit Louis XIV - "L'état, c'est moi".

And that's before we get to the BeIN piracy, as pirating PL rights is an automatic fail of the O&D test.
That's the crux of the issue, Saudi law states that PIF and the state are separate legal entities. But everyone knows they're not. PL offered arbitration way back when, but that wasn't taken up (if they are obviously separate, why not?). If NUFC was a bigger deal for them KSA may have created a purchase vehicle that was sufficiently distinct, but we're not, so they didn't.

If PIF, or some purchase vehicle is found to be distinct from the state, the piracy issue can't be levelled at them.

End of the day, all of this shit should have been foreseen by Staveley et al. and either addressed or avoided.
Simon Jordan is a wind up merchant on talkSport ffs, if it got morons calling their premium rate line he'd insist the Earth is flat. He knows fuck all.

If my ambition was to make a return on my investment in NUFC then of course I would create a separate investment vehicle and mask my ownership. If on the other hand I wanted the reflective glory as a State of winning trophies and playing in high level matches then masking my ownership defeats the purpose.

Jordan is normally spot on and I’d imagine he knows a fair amount about the workings of football as a business.

Aren't you the lad that pretented to be a Sunderland fan for years?
The same lad that when Sunderland beat Newcastle at St James' Park with a last minute winner you were on the matchday thread (5 minutes after the final whistle) giving it the big one pretending to celebrate a Sunderland win?

You're a f***ing wrong'un!

If Jordan said the takeover is definitely going through they would say ‘oh he knows what’s he’s talking about ex chairman and that’ but because he doesn’t it’s ‘he’s just a wind up’.

mags are utterly pathetic.

‘This idea that Newcastle is going to get bought by this PIF fund, this is deader than a dead thing from dead land,” Jordan said. ‘
That’ll do for me

Everyone who has wanted this to happen from local Mag obsessed journalists like Caulkin, Hardy, Bird, Ryder etc through to politicians like Labour MP Chi Onwurah (who should be confronted about her support for these despots, and taking up time asking questions in Parliament-a supposed socialist-absolute joke) and leading figures in Newcastle City Council (blathering on about regional development etc), Wraith and the masses of desperate NUFC supporters should hang their heads in shame. Desperate, desperate people.

Fair point, but aren't the states of Qatar and UAE enjoying the reflected glory from their indirect association with PSG and Man City?
