Irrespective of what the Mags think, the elephant in the room is that Saudi Arabia is, to all intents and purposes, an absolute monarchy. If NUFC was a bigger deal for them KSA may have created a purchase vehicle that was sufficiently distinct, but we're not, so they didn't.

If PIF, or some purchase vehicle is found to be distinct from the state, the piracy issue can't be levelled at them.

End of the day, all of this shit should have been foreseen by Staveley et al. and either addressed or avoided.

If my ambition was to make a return on my investment in NUFC then of course I would create a separate investment vehicle and mask my ownership. If on the other hand I wanted the reflective glory as a State of winning trophies and playing in high level matches then masking my ownership defeats the purpose.
