Pathetic and embarrassing chanting

You had to be there for the Fleetwood one. Bloke was an absolute tit. Nobody was joining in and it was pretty embarrassing. That was pre-covid etc.

FWIW I can't wait to get to another game. I might even manage a home match this season - that would be nice.
You sound like a right laugh

Condone their actions and you're encouraging such behaviour or dismissing what they do and normalising it.

Criticise their actions and you're a wet fanny who is boring and has no sense of humour.

There has to be some middle ground, how can such a thing be poles apart regarding opinions?

I didn't say that at all you pathetic childish imbecile. What I said was, without Officers at scene and the offences being carried out in crowd sized numbers , due to lack of specific evidence and large offending numbers the CPS will simply not prosecute.
Listen you pathetic shit stirring numbskull, don't post blatant lies on here because il call you out every time, you absolute pathetic moron.

:D :D :D keep your truncheon on there, speed camera boy.

because some people are morons, it has always been thus
Glass houses stones etc etc.

people are allowed opinions and to enjoy themselves how they see fit, as long as they don’t cross the lines of acceptability. Now we may all have differing values and beliefs, and therefore different levels of what’s acceptable, but tolerance of others, without the need to insult or demeaning them is the key to us all getting along. If their behaviour crosses the line of the law then of course the authorities can deal with them accordingly.

the whole thrust of the OP is that these chants are unacceptable and indulging and lionising such behaviour for me is a bigger issue than some moronic youths mouthing off

There are some real melts on this forum , key board worriers ( probably wrong spelling )
a bloke on total sport whinging on about the same thing last night , when Simon pride asked him if he confronted them he replied after a short silence........... erm no
Then changed the subject

Just reading through the thread now and might have missed one or two things so forgive me if I've got this wrong... but are some people suggesting that the police should be called because of some Charlie Wyke chants at Wigan?

First match I've been able to get to since March 2019. Absolutely loved it. I can't remember the last time I saw us win in person, and win so convincingly.

However, a contingent of our traveling fans were nothing short of embarrassing with their choice of chants.
The occasional "Fuck the IRA" chant was utterly ridiculous considering
1) James McClean wasn't even playing he wasn't even on the bench
2) 1996 was the last action of the IRA in this country. most of the idiots chanting this probably weren't even born then, and if they were they should know better.
3) Get the fuck over it. He hasn't played for us for years

The even more ludicrous chant was
"Sunderland boys were on a bender. Charlie Wyke is a sex offender".
Let's break that down shall we?
Sunderland boys on a bender sounds more like a homoerotic gangbang rather than a night on the booze, but of course not many things conveniently rhyme with sex offender and I doubt the inventor of the chant could manage to rhyme nonce.
Charlie Wyke is a sex offender - Wow. I mean, really? The bloke scored an absolute hat-full last season (shame he only managed 9 in the previous 2 seasons). An opportunity came up for him to sign a 3 year deal and he took it.
He followed the money. Like many of us would. You get next to nowt for loyalty these days. We need to stop being so f***ing precious about things.
Wyke didn't even play last night so what was the point?

We had an actual sex offender playing for Sunderland. A real one. A paedophile. Why do some of our lot think it's fine to throw that kind of slur around at anyone else? Particularly players who didn't leave on bad terms, they just left.

A great game with some excellent football from us, tainted by some of our lot who are frankly making themselves look as thick as a submarine door. I'd like to think that's not the case. We're better than this. Aren't we?
I won't even bother mentioning the morons who boo'd the taking the knee (for all of 3 seconds of it). I suspect if there's a venn diagram of the people who did that and the idiotic chants it would be a perfect circle.
Well if we're picking nits here, Adam Johnson wasn't a paedophile, was he.

Think we can all agree Wyke should not be accused of being a paedophile . Ridiculous chant.

What I will say , and I am ashamed to say ,is that Harry Robert's was never my king....but I was about 13 when I sang it.

I doubt anyone would have confronted them - not alone, any way. There were hundreds chanting it
