*bought their way to secondThis is the crux of the problem. Steve Bruce was a dead man walking from day one. They want an Arab or oligarch owner and a charismatic foreign manager who wears expensive suits. They'll settle for nothing less than buying their way to the top, like they did 25 years ago.
But what they fail to grasp, is that could just as easy happen at any club. And I dare say their case for preference is diminished by their conduct.
They hate me saying this but it's absolutely true. Newcastle are roughly where they should be in the hierarchy, and both Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley are doing reasonably OK.

That day on here was amazingly amazing! Fond memories, like of the best party you ever went to and will never forget. Oh how we gloated, drank and cried tears of joy and laughter, as they cried a river, with tracks of their tears, rolling down gravy stained tops.Triple whammy of the 6 in a row, us relegating them then the takeover. They'll never recover.
Tuchel might be ‘interested again’Wasn't Bruce something like 5th or 6th choice when he got the job? I can't see many people wanting it in the current circumstances either.
Are we (or any other fans) that different? We all want to improve, progress and have something to shout about.Im just not sure at what point of their history shows they should have divine right to be a contender for anything?
Can't stand this saying of "lack of ambition", it's ghastly, what it actually means is the owner isn't lumping debt on the club or he isn't personally bankrolling it to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds.
Hopefully 1 point buys him timeMassive two games for Bruce, has to win one of them
Think they might get something on Friday.Massive two games for Bruce, has to win one of them
I hope this fella is standing at the gate to relegation safety...Massive two games for Bruce, has to win one of them
aye, same here, leeds looked woeful yesterday and were poor at burnley.Think they might get something on Friday.
but you know they will....It would be f***ing hilarious if they got taken over, they invested nothing in the squad and spent a fortune on the 'reejan'.
They wouldn't even be able to complain either.![]()

They would show their world class Geordie Sang Froid.but you know they will....
Shearer has a short memory, when he was a boy (pre-1992) they were a similar husk of a club with less ambition...
