The Taliban have issued an ultimatum and now it's time for the football community to stop pussyfooting about and tell the Qataris to get them in order or they can sing for the WC.
sorry can I just get this straight ...are you suggesting that the FIFA should tell the Taliban to relax Sharai Law in Afghanistan or they will cancel the World Cup ?

It's a complicated part of the world, and I'm sure that it touches on Qatar as well, but I always thought the Taliban was largely funded by wealthy Saudis and protected by Pakistan. Neither of whom are hosting the World Cup.
Well the Taliban have had their headquarters in Doha for quite a few years now, though I think many if not all of the leaders have now gone back to Afghanistan.

I do my best. Can you explain what the Qataris can do to get the Taliban in order?
The tali are starved of Afghan money as its frozen in international banks....Qatar is suspected of bankrolling the Tali and will need to sub them over the next few months and years so i guess the suggestion is to coerce the tali to play nice or we boycott the world cup! Aint going to happen!America is a disgrace and should bow the heads in shame, all those uk lives lost for nothing! sad sad times!

Football comes a very distant second when it comes to what is happening in Afghanistan, or are people happy with what is going on?
Bill Shankly got it totally wrong with his quote.

The Qatari government have for many years mediated between the Taliban and the US. A key component of the US exit strategy. You’re talking absolute horse cock.

The Taliban was funded by the CIA not so long ago. Osama Bin Laden was a fully paid up member at the time. I agree though it’s complicated

Best of luck with that. The Afghans have a history going back centuries of not giving a f**k what anyone tells them to do. And I’m not sure the Taliban are that arsed about footy. And that’s even without the quataris funding them.
