I remember him playing in a semi final game a few years ago now, iirc it was after a return from injury and at the time thinking it was bad craic on the other team.

I’m not that interested in The Hundred myself but have a couple of mates who think it’s fantastic. One has no interest in any other cricket format but loves The Hundred and watches every game. He finds it to be very exciting and entertaining. I pointed out that it just wasn’t that much different from T20 but he disagreed, he’s watched T20 and doesn’t like it. It seems if you’re already a cricket lover then this format does not appeal, but for some strange reason people who do not usually follow cricket think it’s great. Can’t understand it myself.

To me it is excellent that people who had previously not watched the game now do, as personally I think new people to the game are needed.
I agree with your mate that ‘The Hundred’ is entertaining, but really struggle to understand how he can like the hundred but not T20 as they practically the same!

I'm sure some people would be delighted if it did.
I’m all for positivity around the women’s game but this batting effort has shown there’s a way to go.

Its not so much that. It’s that some of the dismissals were very weak. There are times when women’s cricket is really impressive but there was a chunk of that game that was poor imo.
It was only a joke, mate, I haven't watched any of the women's tournament so can't comment on the standard

Play Cricket shows Stokes played for Newcastle v Stockton in June 2026 in a NEPL fixture.The week after he's playing for the Academy v Whitburn in another League game.With him being around 25 yrs that year it suggests they were to get him match fit again .I can’t imagine him playing for Newcastle City, think you may have got the wrong club there
