Bloke says he's gone for decades yet he says this below?
If you don’t and are happy to survive and perhaps flirt with European qualification now and again, take on the chin the inevitable relegations and pray for speedy promotions then fine, this takeover which continues to drag is not for you and whilst disagreeing, I respect that.
We are football fans, we are not political activists, we have one real passion and desire and that is for our great football club, to return to former glories and be all that it can be, competing on a level playing field with the other elites.
Surely any pre 92er fan will know the position the club were in before 1992? They were shite, a yoyo club mainly finishing no higher than the bottom half of the table and very nearly got relegated to Div 3. The other factor they don't consider is that mid 90's is when the Premier League first blossomed. Teams spent willy nilly due to this injection of extra finances chasing success and player prices and wages went up and up.
Obviously Leeds and Blackburn couldn't maintain it and the Mags were heading the same way due to winning nowt and fading away before Hall etc bailed on them. The gap at the top or breaking into it also wasn't as big as it is now financially or on the global market. Teams can't really go wastefully spending millions like the could when it all started and grew as any failure would be disastrous.
The delusion of some Mags is unreal when they come out with this
