The Curran’s

Anthly

Central Defender
Does anybody else think Sam Curran looks a bit like Phil Neville? He was crap too.
Both the Curran’s aren’t up to it. Tom is probably the pick of two. Both of them very average all rounders.

Sam Curran's test averages since 2018:

2018: Bat 36.73, Bowl 25.14
2019: Bat 20.60, Bowl 33.56
2020: Bat 19.67, Bowl 40.11
2021: Bat 18.00, Bowl 68.25

Has a player ever regressed so spectacularly?

Sam needs to go back to County Cricket and develop he has potential but been drafted in way to quickly and then backed and backed, its not surprising to see Ali feel hard done with when you look at Curran's treatment. Tom is bang average

The fact you’ve said Tom is better than Sam proves you are a troll

Number of games and more importantly location of games I suspect. I don’t think Sam is too bad, but he’s only useful as a 4th seamer, and he isn’t knocking stokes out of the side anytime soon

There's been a fairly even balance between home and away games across his career. Its all on howstat.

However you spin it, he's gone backwards in his test career since 2018.

Please explain how i’m a troll? It’s only my opinion.

Some of his better games have been abroad. I watched him in SL in 2018 and he was decent in the first two games (cannit remember much about the last one tbh).

England: Matches: 11, Bat 28.44, Bowl: 29.71
NZ: Matches 2, Bat 40.00, Bowl: 39.67
SA: Matches 4, Bat 18.57, Bowl: 32.60
SL: Matches 4, Bat 25.00, Bowl: 41.00
WI: Matches 2, Bat 16.67, Bowl: 161.00
All overseas: Matches 12, Bat 23.00, Bowl: 42.33

Generally speaking he's better in England.

True, but the system doesn’t help. He never plays red ball cricket
This is very true, the ECB have pissed around with the system and although they will say red ball is a priority blah blah it clearly isn’t because the red ball summer has. Even lost in white ball cricket as never before.

The test batting at the mo is dreadful we’ve had to recall a 30+ year old lad who failed at test cricket last played tests three years
with an ashes series coming up in the winter.

What the absolute fuck. These administrators call themselves professionals but they must know absolutely nothing.

Such a shame, a few years ago everything was rosy in the garden we were winning ashes series again and the batting was solid but they haven’t built in this in the way Australia or India would have done.
