Can't blame the manager tonight. Looked to me like he got it spot on with attacking their high defensive line, unfortunately the players fluffed the big chances.

Yes, but that was a very clear template for how games will be lost too. There are probably 8 teams, at least, that will be better than Burton.
What’s your point? Every comment you make is negative. We lost but played well. It happens so why come on a Sunderland forum just to make negative comments and stick the knife into Sunderland fans again and again?

You can only guess when Gooch plays the ball but I think he was marginally offside. Anyway, shouldn't be focusing on that f***ing one chance when there's ample other opportunities squandered.

Can see why it’s given offside too as Flanagan is the first player the linesman will see. Hard to pause it exact time the ball is kicked.

Looks offside for a long period and then comfortably onside after

It’s very, very tight. I’ve had four or five looks at that Roker Report video and slowed it down and it’s very difficult to see whether he was on or off when the ball was released. I’m not sure the linesman can actually see when the ball has been played so it’s guesswork.

It’s one of those things and was entirely in keeping with the way the game was. Just not our night.

If you pause it at the exact point Gooch is kicking the ball, Flanagan is very marginally offside in my eyes. At full speed it looks like he's played on but try it for yourselves and see if yous come to the same conclusion.
