England v India (2nd test) Lords

Nothing wrong with the umpires decision. Looked out, didnt get forward and hawkeye shows it hitting a fair amount of stump even if it was umpires call

Hameed should be nowhere near the Test team, let's be honest. He's poor.

I think it’s a mental thing. He can definitely bat but his head seems scrambled by the pressure. It’s a shame.
England have 444 runs in the Matt half so far.

Root 207 not out
Everyone else 237 for 13

A damning indictment. He’s playing a different sport to his teammates

What was that? Fielder stopped the ball, then oddly lifted the back of his sweater and shirt up, rubbed his hand on the small of his back, then then immediately started rubbing the ball with the same fingers????

You’re allowed to use sweat to help shine the ball.
Fair enough criticize Burns and Sibley but Hameed has just come back. Glad im not watching those twats lap it up.

Hameed to open next Test for me. No question.

Once again DRS had the ball dipping after contact. An 85mph ball from a bloke 6 foot 5 was dipping. Really?

See above.
Don’t know I’m surprised it hasn’t been raised by anyone in the game. Perhaps it’s because this is a slow pitch and the ball loses pace as soon as it hits the pitch?

Burns n sibley must be England’s worst opening pair ever. Surely got to be better somewhere in England they’ve had way too many chances already

I genuinely don’t know, but it seems like every marginal call in this series as benefited the Indians which is tough to swallow when you think of the blatant cheating we saw by Indian umpires in the winter.

England last selection of openers Sibley, Burns, Stoneman, Jennings, Robson, Lyth, Hameed all deserved their selection in weight of runs. All of them have failed at test cricket and most of them went back to the county game and did fuck all. The cupboard really is pretty bare.

There was no cheating at all by the onfield umpires in the winter. There was 2 3rd umpire decisions that left a bad taste.

Agreed it’s awful. Players just can’t bat like boycott anymore. Need to forget specialist openers go bairstow n hales with Malan at 5, just pick the best batsmen

Looking like a few lean years coming up. The batting cupboard is bare. Only really Pope who could have a case for being an upgrade on current starters. Bowling unit is poor and that’s before we start worrying about finding replacements for Anderson and Broad.
Stokes obviously a concern, Archer as well. Christ it’s pitiful.
