I think most have been privately educated on cricketing scholarships rather than going to public school as such.

I don’t think Ben Stokes was privately educated, Ben Foakes is definitely a comp lad as well and Jack Leach is. I’d like to think class and education doesn’t make a difference for England selection but at face value it does seem harder for comp lads to get in and retain their place!
