England v India (2nd test) Lords

we moved around bairstow Ali etc to try fix top order problems

Assuming Burns is safe for now at 1, who are the contenders for 2 and 3?

Leading contenders in the CC off the top of my head:
Openers: Lees, Jennings, Libby, Lyth, Stoneman, DBD
Number 3s: Crawley, Abell, Bracey, Malan, Hain, Northeast, Haynes, Ballance

Most of these have all either been tried or were well behind the current incumbents when they were all playing in the CC.

So when do the wickets start tumbling? 🤐

aye nobody standing out there

Hameed will get a run as opener this series in my view

I’d have malan at 3 however if they believe in Pope then give him ago st 3

he doesn’t score enough runs in the middle order so that’s his way in

root, stokes, bairstow, buttler, Ali is my 4 to 8 in England from now on. Wouldn’t play Ali as the spinner in Australia but that’s fine.

for me keep trying people in top 3 till someone sticks. Don’t mess with the other parts, it’s what we did previously and it cost us

not a great start today mind

That’s pace!!!

no

but we have better in the middle order

is it not worth ago if he’s as talented as they make on?

I don’t know the answer like just a suggestion
At the moment we have nothing to lose and potentially a lot to gain playing him at 2-3

think for me root should play 3 best batsman in at 3 then add someone in at 4 leaving 2 up for grabs also
