Take away the away following in the PL we have lost around 10k matchday fans. I'm sure you would agree that's not too bad considering this is the 4th season in league 1.

According to this (happy to be proven wrong) your average attendance for your season in the championship was 27k.

It's testament to the fans that it's picked up with you being in League One. For comparison though, big clubs in that league like Man City 20 years ago averaged 28k. Sheff Utd got 21k average but their Prem average was only 25k. Whilst yours is decent, it's not spectacular.

How many would you get in league one?
You know considering you had to give away 10k season tickets.

Absolute bollocks our support in league 1 is incredible and I would say that about any club who had the crowds we've had the last 4 seasons in this league

To add more to this, the only direct comparison I can make is our seasons in the championship.

Last time you were there you averaged 27k to our 51k. We averaged 43k after the first relegation under Ashley. You averaged 31k and 28k in championship stints before that.

I don't really know why we are even talking about attendances tbh - anyone who saw you turn out en masse to go to Wembley in the pizza cup would know you follow your club well

We finished bottom you finished top after spending a fortune.
It's not really a fair comparison.

I mean us and yous played last Saturday at home you were playing premier League Norwich in a friendly at £10 a ticket we we playing Wigan in league 1 and we had over 31,000 yous had 20,000 just shows you how good our support is

We finished bottom after barely spending a penny, appointed Simon Grayson. You lot got your 'world class' manager to stay and backed him big time with top quality championship players like Gayle, Hanley and Ritchie. You then won the league. Not a fair comparison.

Edit - Just checked, you averaged 31k that season - did you not also have a manager then fans loved and win the league?

If you go back a few posts, you will read I actually said clearly you had good fans and you just have to look at the wembley photos.

Actually, many didn't sit back - certainly not in the stadium anyway, gave up attending and supporting the club altogether.

Which I have since proven they have/did. It was in direct response to what protesting achieves and I highlighted the other option that some of your fans took - they did it, not me 🤷‍♂️

Edit - Just to add further, posters on here in the past have talked about lost generations and how Hall stole Sunderland fans and made them mags when we were doing well. That was your own fans saying that some stopped supporting the club.
