It means they can spread the fee over the life of the deal, in the accounts. Big risk for the kid, as if they go down, he will risk being in the Championship with a 20m+ price tag around his neck. Hopefully he secured a low level release clause.

If they keep Wilson fit and have Willock in the team I can't see them going down. Even though he is a mag :) I think Wilson is a good striker

Surely the fee paid to Arsenal is a separate issue to the contract given to Willock?

When I say "spread" I mean in an entirely accounting aspect.

Arrivals are ammortised along the life of the contract. Departures appear immeadiately in the accounts. So lower amotisation, higher EBIT.

Talking on Total Sport last night about Bruce wanting anither centre half..loves a centre half does Brucey. Yous defo need a striker, can't rely on Wilson being fit.
We've sent the young lad Watts out on loan, but there are, what 5 CBs that will be enough for the lofty ambitions of bottom half. Much prefe3r we put that money into a striker and a central midfielder that's better than Jeff f***ing Hendrick.

They’ve a few players that would walk into pretty much every bottom half premier league team.

Added to the fact that Bruce has them firmly in the “hard to beat” category I think that sadly they’ll get over 40 points and stay away from the relegation scrap.

I think they’re a long way from top 8 material though so we can still sit back and enjoy watching some shop shouting, bed sheet waving, etc.

Usual sour grapes of 'He's not that good anyway' after numerous 'wouldn't it be funny if he didn't sign'.

Nowt spectacular, good value, keeps the club in the Prem by the skin of its teeth for another season. Mike's happy, Bruce keeps his job, every Nufc fan yawns for another season.

Aye, it is mad that £25 million is probably nothing in the grand scheme of things for a young player with not that much on his CV and not interesting any of the top six at all.
