I don't think I said he would keep up his goal scoring streak. I also take the opinion of someone who thought Graham would get 20 goals with a pinch of salt as does every other poster on here
Unfortunately £20m isnt a great deal in todays market, one day we might be lucky to find out. I hope he fails miserably but at that its worth a risk for them
He also doesn't remind me of Jon Stead by any stretch of the imagination

Well that goal scoring streak has put a premium on him, so he's evidently overvalued unless he maintains it. I never said Graham would score 20 goals, but you were probably another poster demanding we signed someone at the time who now plays for Spalding.

The comparison with Jon Stead was because he had a hot scoring streak at Blackburn which propelled him to the edge of the England squad. The rest is history. It sounds as if you might be too young to remember that.

Your words, "we could quite easily get 20+ from him with a bit of luck"
No I don't think I was demanding anything, but its not like you to make stuff up is it? Spalding was about Grahams limit.
Me too young :lol:. I remember Jon Stead only too well, so I presume you mean the hot streak when he scored 6 Premiership goals for Blackburn in his first season? Willock isn't even a striker. But its not just about his goals, we are discussing his valuation and your incessant bigging up of shite Sunderland signings and then coming out with crap like that. No one takes your opinion of players seriously, due to the past shite you post

Could not would then. Talking out of your rear in other words.

It was half a season, but clearly you love to bend and twist things to suit your own argument so there's little purpose in debating with you.

He's been at Arsenal a long time (since he was 5 years old) and hasn't really shown anything to suggest he's a £20million+ player. So not surprised Arsenal have taken the money. I always thought his older brother Chris would end up being the better player but he ended up leaving us on a free transfer.

The only downside is that the club will spend it badly on someone like Ramsdale as been rumoured.
You finished 10th and he scored more goals than any of your midfielders?

I'd suggest he's shown to be worth 20m and lots of Arsenal fans are posting that they are sad to see him leave.

fuck me sideways , the irony meter has gone right off the scale. Irrespective of whether it was could or would, you were so far off the mark with your assumption as usual. Which is really my point, every time you big a potential Sunderland signing up, you are made to look utterly stupid but it doesn’t stop you. I never said it was a full season, I said his first season at Blackburn. He only scored 8 for Blackburn overall, who propelled Jon Stead to the verge of the England squad? Probably you if history is anything to go by.

Midfielder being deemed shite because t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶a̶g̶s̶ ̶s̶i̶g̶n̶e̶d̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶ he won't keep up a record of 8 goals every 11 90 mins is an interesting one.

So Jon Stead said it and that makes it on the verge? Tord Grip was impressed but no quotes from him and guess what? Stead never made the squad, because of an 8 game streak and no one is suggesting that Willock will too.
anyhow this isn’t about Jon Stead, it’s about Willock and that will have differing opinions, no issue with that. My point was that because of your propensity to talk shite, no one should take notice of you. I couldn’t give a shite what they pay for him, he was good for them in his errrm “hot streak” but who knows, he might bow out like Jon Stead did

Good signing tbf...very surprised Arsenal won't give him a chance.

They are pretty well stacked in midfield tbf. Think they were expecting Xhaka to go to Roma but he's stayed and they want Maddison as well as having Smith-Rowe. That's Xhaka, Partey, Elneny, Torreira, Maitland-Niles, Lokonga they've just signed, Smith-Rowe and potentially Maddison they have for that area of the pitch. Makes sense to sell him and use the cash to help fund Maddison deal and include a buy back option on him if he develops.

Didn't realise Xhaka handy gone tbh...still think Willock showed at the Mags that he's worth a go.
