Lack of transfers concerning?

Promotion this year is what's most important...a positive impact over the next few years won't wash if we're in a stronger position going into another League 1 season in a year's time.
I don't want remind you or anyone else that SAFC shouldn't be in this league. We've been here twice before and got promoted after one season. This is VERY different than the 80s/90s. Clubs spend BIG to get out of this league or if they are lucky etc get some gems from their youth team who are still playing when the have settled in L1 or EPL. I know what you;re saying, we have to get promoted this year, but i'm terrifired if we don't it's going to be nuts! I'm patient we might be in this league for another two years.

Have we?

Yeah but they are the same lads we had available for selection last season.
A year is a long time at that age difference in size and body shape.the players that left have been replaced with Prichard, hawkes, kimpioka, embleton isn’t this what people wanted !! Yet are still moaning about signings

Ipswich have more money than us, agreed , but it’s embarrassing imo

Its a shame, but its just reality. They don't have the debt we do. We are still making historical payments from the last owners.

They're taking a strategy of paying a little bit more and hoping it pays off. We did that before and it didn't so are now having to do what we are doing now.

They'll have to do the same if they don't go up.

It's not a year though. The season finished in May.

No one has spent more than us to get out of this division, no one is really spending big. Peterborough spent a few quid last season because they sold for big fees, but it still didn't eclipse what we spent first season.

If any set of fans should know its what you sign and not just how much you pay it should be us.

Think I agree with most of what you said, but as an owner if you ain’t going to spend money on players, when you just bought the club, when are you.
Not making sense to me at all at present.

He has cleverer people than me advising him, and has been around the football business a long time, so I trust they know what they're doing.

It's blind trust tho

Surely the theory is that the club should be run within its means as much as possible, but season after season the clubs who go up don't actually spend much - its about getting the right players and loans and giving them the wages. I mean yeah its hard to have faith in their ability to do that, but we've not done that well when spending either.

The Championship is a different kettle of fish and that's where you would need real investment to make an impact.

I'm not a fan of LJ but I do think he is being backed into a corner by the club. With the players he's currently got available, it will be a leap of faith to expect a good start and the pressure will be on him from the start. Not sure what it is, but I do think something is off within the club.

I agree to an extent - but he's Head Coach, not Manager, and he fully backs himself from a coaching standpoint

His task is to mould what he has into something that can get promoted.

Tough one!

Pritchard hasn't played and is goosed. Who said they wanted him?

Kimpioka is not getting a start. Neither is Hawkes.

Well it’s give them time to look at them and asses them it could save us a fortune

Hawkes isn’t getting start ??? the season hasn’t even started ! he’s getting linked with West Ham and Spurs etc that suggests he’s good enough for league 1
