The Hundred - Free tickets

Hussain on now. Lot of respect for him but made a baffling statement how the blast etc isn’t producing the quality required. England are arguably the best white ball team in the world.
Ridiculous statement, especially as most of the big names they're using to sell the competition are players who exceeded in 20/20

Propaganda from Sky and the BBC that would make Kim Jong-Un blush.

See above.

Durham scored 400+ in 50 overs on Thursday. Pity you don’t like county cricket.
Like to see any cricket but prefer attacking cricket, good effort that and good to see.

Normally have a bet on the county championship and been cursing my luck last few years as keep backing Somerset and been so close yet so far.

Really like they set up always bring the youngsters on and give them a chance and keep churning them out year after year
My eldest went to Headingley yesterday as he had already committed to his Harrogate train tickets and he really enjoyed it
I think it’s inevitable people will mate, because it’s proven people like T20 and ‘The Hundred’ is extremely similar

Those who say this new format is entertaining and can't understand why others hate it are missing the point. This is a 4th format introduced when it's always been acknowledged that 3 formats are too much for the domestic calendar to cope with.

When Lord mcLaurin became Head of ECB he wanted to make English cricket run like a business. Others since have wanted the same thing. This current CC format is very close to Lord Tesco's conference idea. If the 100 takes off something is going to have to give way.

It won't be T20 which is a moneyspinner. It will be the 50 over competition (which helped England become the present World Champions) and the County Championship. It's unlikely they'll be chopped altogether but I can see them being dramatically changed. They have already this season but I can see it getting worse.

It seems cricket is now the latest thing to give way to yoof. Maybe driven by jealousy at how tournaments like IPL & BBL are so successful. The fact is English cricket will not see success at that kind of level because we are the only major cricket playing country that is a poor second to football.

If The Hundred wasn't a threat to cricket then great. But despite denials from the ECB it very much is.

That's the big point to me, they've seen the IPL become a huge money spinner from a game we invented but failed to properly capitalize on. Thing is weather in Australia and India is also more conducive to cricket and being able to have larger crowds due to that. Fact is nothing was overly wrong with the T20 but they could have made tweaks to compete with these competitions. My worry is solely about Durham as I can see potentially down the line being 8 clubs to play all formats and every one else demoted to a minor county.
At the moment it's ruining the other competitions for fans, not being able to see their own players while the are gallivanting in exhibition cricket

Just said this would be Buttlers last game before joining the test squad, assume it’s the same for the other England players. Waste of time the likes of Burns/Sibley being part of this when they could have at least played 50 over cricket for their counties
