Durham v Kent (a) RL cup (50 over)

It was a very good win against a county who have a history in their favour of good results against Durham.
Pity the stream showed only stump to stump width.
Well not getting carried away after how we fell away after a good start in the 20/20

Sadly didn't manage to see a ball bowled today but cracking start to the tournament.
Well done Clark for going on after a good start and getting that match defining innings let's hope he can have at least one more of them over the next 3 weeks. Also Rushy taking wickets with the new ball "what s surprise".

Some observations on the day

Clark - just tremendous. From the very first ball. Blocked the good ones, belted the bad ones
Lees - went under the radar a bit, but due to being starved of strike. Top knock
Bedders and Bancroft - momentum added, such clean and clever hitting
Kent catching was minging
Rushy - the pitch did nowt, those 3 wickets were huge and effectively won the game for us

just tremendous

You can see why they need to rebrand a new format, this 50 over stuff is such a dismal drab affair.
So it’s just a rebranding problem ?
It’s proper cricket where players can build an innings and move up the gears and the bowlers can switch plans from wicket taking to containment. To suggest that it is a boring product is nonsense in my book
You are forgetting that we are world champions in this format and it wasn’t very long ago we were celebrating the most exciting days cricket ever with super overs and the lot thrown in.
It’s the ECB s marketing of cricket as a sport which is the problem not the game and peaks, troughs and swings in excitement that arise in the one day game
I am disappointed that the ECB have put all their financial eggs in this new gimmicky format which is neither accessible or desirable to real cricket fans who don’t have a team or identity to support
That’s why I am out and not interested in the 100

That's definitely gone for overthrows.

And not 'buzzers' Nasser, if you're reading this.
