CC :: Durham v Nottinghamshire

Some good signs from today. Steady away
Some good signs from the entire group, had Notts and Derbyshire on the rack in the first games we played against them - had we got over the line once we’d be through.

Had Essex on the rack too away of course, the less said about that the better but of the 5 opponents we faced we only lost to the former County Champions so there is certainly something to work from/to on that score.

Still keep saying one catastrophic day at Chelmsford has cost us dearly. It felt at the time we would probably look back on that nightmare run chase with regret.
Overall 3rd position is probably fair enough. Our batting is fragile and only Bedingham looks capable of scoring big hundreds. The pace attack is decent although we lack that 5th bowler preferably a spinner to give us some variety but even a Colly type bowler are always handy in county cricket.

Totally devalued competition sadly
A great opportunity for those players who don’t always hit the headlines to show what they can do.

Gareth Harte was a big loss.
