Prove what?
Nope. You'd see lights moving over. You said depending on where you are you can see the mirroring light.
So surely if you were on the so called equator and looked one way with a telescope you'd see the mirror projecting the stars anti-clockwise and then looked the other way you'd see them move clockwise?
Nope. You'd see lights moving over.
Anywhere you stand would alter what you see in the sky.
Because you're looking at a dome and depending on where you are whilst looking at the lights reflecting off the dome, you will see opposites, just like you would do by looking at yourself in a mirror...especially a concave mirror.Which way though?
Why would it suddenly change from anticlockwise to clockwise rotation?
Because you're looking at a dome and depending on where you are whilst looking at the lights reflecting off the dome, you will see opposites, just like you would do by looking at yourself in a mirror...especially a concave mirror.
Depending on where you are, yes.So you could at the direct middle look one way at the dome and see the projection go one way and turn around and see them go the other?
These would all move in synch too then if it's a mirror?
Depending on where you are, yes.
Why would it?Already said on the so called made up equator
Why hasn't this been proved then?
That would still work on a flat earth. No reason why the continents could not fit like that, especially as the route you suggest is fairly northern.Even without getting technical, you can literally walk from the east of Russia to the west of America. How would that be possible if the earth was flat?
Also gravity pulls all matter towards it and the most efficient way is a sphere, that way all matter is as close as possible to the centre. Its what had happened to every other formed planet in observable universe.
Are we talking using a compass?
If so then following east would take you around a circle.
East on your globe would also be taking you around a circle, only your circle would be curved as you are told.
.
Why would it?
The earth is told and sold as a spinning globe.
Who's going to say any other and stay as any official?

You're sounding like the creator of the Cool Hard Logic YouTube channel. It's the same arguments he uses, maybe @Nukehasslefan could learn a thing or 2 from this video:That would still work on a flat earth. No reason why the continents could not fit like that, especially as the route you suggest is fairly northern.
You can start to imagine it yourself. Picture the globe earth as an inflatable beach ball (you can probably buy these and try it). Take a knife and slash from the south poll up to fairly close to the north and you can start to shred the lower half of the ball into strips. Eventually you will be able to lie it flat on a table like some sort of giant star fish. But what you notice is the southern continents are now really far apart.
We trust distances on the earth. People travel them all the time, from 3 mile runs, 20 mile drives to work to long haul flights. With long distance train journeys and people doing long car trips (some crazy people even cycle thousands of miles), and sailing, if the distances were out by a long way, people would notice. So we can accept the distance of 12,436 miles from the north pole to the south pole as reasonably accurate. I have a friend who worked on British Antarctica and you can book trips to pretty high in the Arctic, so if someone is lying about that distance, it is not going to be far off. People would have noticed.
This is where it gets interesting. If north to south is 12,436 miles and you spread that out flat, that means you now have a disk of radius 12,436, middle to edge. This puts a circumference of our flat earth at 2πr or 78,137 miles. This is over three times the circumference of a globe earth, which shows how large the gap between the southern continents have now become. What is filling these gaps? With modern flight and the like, we can only assume sea. Otherwise what are these hidden southern lands? It all becomes a bigger conspiracy. Now we have built up maps of the sea bed for a lot of the world. So oceanic cartographers are in on this, hiding masses of undersea kingdoms. Why? They can't all be wrong and only seeing what they want to see because it is what they were 'schooled'.
Now look at the land. Sydney is -33.8,151.2 degrees, Cape town is -33.9,18.4 degrees and Buenos Aires is -34.6, -58 degrees. On a flat or a globe earth, they are all the roughly same distance from the equator. We can introduce some degree of error and say they are all at -34 degrees. Pole to pole, the circumference is 24,859.7 degrees. Divide that by 360 and we get 69 miles for every degree of latitude. -34 degrees is 90+34 degrees from the north pole x 69 miles puts them all sitting on a circle of around 8,556 miles radius or 53,759 miles circumference. I.e. if you were to travel around the world, Sydney, Cape Town to Buenos Aires, across the Pacific and back, you would travel nearly 54,000 miles. Sydney to cape town in longitude is 132.8 degrees. The distance around this circle is 132.8/360 * 53,759 = 19,831 miles. The accepted distance is 6,838 miles. That is an increase factor of 2.9. The distance alone between Sydney and Perth now becomes 5,928 miles by the same scale factor.
Why has nobody noticed this?
Of course, if you did have this spread out on a disc similar to this image:

following the latitude circle Sydney to Cape Town would be madness. Why would you ever do that? It would cost loads in time and fuel. The best way to go would be in a straight line. That takes you over China, Egypt then fly south west over Africa. Nobody travels that route to Cape Town.
I've never seen a flat earther able to cope with distances in the southern hemisphere. The sheer scale that the earth needs to be exploded by doesn't work. You are not talking a bit of extra distance that someone on a plane might not notice, you are talking differences of thousands of miles. This is the major reason that nobody has ever produced the most basic model of how the earth worked, called a map. Right back to neolithic man, there is evidence that one hunting scout would arrive back at the camp with the surroundings marked on a bit of tree bark, hill, river, good hunting here. If they could do it, why has no flat earther or shall we say "anti-globe" conspiracy theorist, ever been able to produce this most basic starting block. Even before the Greeks agreed the earth was indeed a globe, they had pretty detailed maps and distances.
I was fortunate enough to have an active imagination and go to a good school.Of course your schooling makes sense. Why wouldn't it?
You go into school as a willing learner, generally. Peer pressure ensures you try to keep up or you are, maybe, simply a person who can memorise stuff much more than others.
The issue is, you can memorise the potential truth just as easily as you could memorise potential misinformation and yet your requirements are to regurgitate all of that onto an exam sheet for the reward of a certificate.
Which s all fair enough but it doesn't mean you learned whole truth's all of the time.
Scientist's spew out lots of stuff for a reason, there lots to consider. If science is beyond our comprehension then we look for potentials of what everything maybe be.
Or do you mean so called scientists spew out lots of stuff which nobody can comprehend?
The earthbound and near earth science has so many people checking these days you simply couldn't sail anything past them all.Everything we do is a science.
It's not suspending a belief in science it's questioning what could very well be pseudo science told by so called experts in that so called field.
We likely do believe in a lot of fairy tales.
The issue is in finding the fact from the fiction.
Some accept most things as fact if told by someone who they are coaxed into believing, are experts on the matter.
Concave mirrors do.But mirrors don't reverse an image - that is merely perception

It was even demonstrated on QI once.
It's science fact not science fictionIn your mind, maybe.
The reasons for that are whatever reasons you believe are valid to you.
And yet you cannot prove it.It's science fact not science fiction
