I said at the time when they all left " good luck but no coming back when it suits you"
Well, all except K*nt.“That shower” ffsI wouldn’t even talk about the lankies like that. I have the utmost respect for all counties and I believe most people with the game at heart are the same
Think he would be put automatically into the CC side, but would have to perform, which is no bad thing. The way I look at things is that long term Banga is not a permanent signing as he will have to bow to any demands Australia put on him. Basically Banga performs well for us and Australia will want him attending training camps etc. He might not even get back into the Australian team but won't be out on the pitch playing for us. Whereas Stoneman would be more of a permanent fixture.Would he be guaranteed a game? Our batting is looking decent this season.
I would doubt Bancroft will be called up anytime soon after his interview last month. Not sure he would be welcomed back into their dressing room......Think he would be put automatically into the CC side, but would have to perform, which is no bad thing. The club are still hoping that Bedingham can still be registered as British through an ancestral passport and as for Bancroft, you'll never get an overseas whose available for the whole season so he's as good as you can hope for.If you brought back Rocky then you wouldn't need to have both your overseas as specialist batsmen and could probably not re-sign Bancroft who is never available for the whole season as his priorities are with his state team WA in Aussie. That would give them far more flexibility. Personally I wouldn't bring him back but then again I wouldn't have brought back Badger it Coggers.
I agree especially after comitting to 5 years on Badgers contractIt’s quite a luxurious position we find ourselves in that I don’t think he’d get in our side at present
Not all three anyway, he’d be straight in the one day side I’d imagine but I don’t think we’re in a position financially to be giving big contracts to lads purely to play white ball cricket.
I think Durham have to be a bit more creative when signing overseas especially now that our domestic season is going into October and starting early April. Personally always been in favour of signing good solid Aussie state cricketers as normally they do well in the county format. But with their season expanding to fit in T20 as well it is difficult for those players to be available at the start and end of the season. Bancroft 10/15 years ago would have been perfect, probably finished with the national team and a domestic season for WA then flight over here for a full season with Durham. A Benks or a Diva (but not necessarily a batsmen) who is done with domestic cricket at home would be ideal even if they played as one of the two overseas. The club are still hoping that Bedingham can still be registered as British through an ancestral passport and as for Bancroft, you'll never get an overseas whose available for the whole season so he's as good as you can hope for.
Yes there's an argument for a quality overseas spinner but that's unrealistic given their demand in T20 franchise cricket. Plus Trevaskis has shown signs that he needs to be persevered with.
Rocky's 1st class record for Surrey over the past 3 seasons has been moderate at best(av. high 20's) and the reason he's at Yorkshire for T20 is because he couldn't make the Surrey side.
Not could we,or should be, compete with Surrey's wages.
NoSo what are peoples feelings on Rocky being available for next year? Do we bring him home?
Brandon C.C. perhaps. A couple of classy cack handers at the top of the order if one can get the time to playSo what are peoples feelings on Rocky being available for next year? Do we bring him home?
Aye that’s a very good point. Time will tell.I would doubt Bancroft will be called up anytime soon after his interview last month. Not sure he would be welcomed back into their dressing room......
In fairness mind, and I'm assuming you mean sign him on a permanent, I'd say there's little chance. So what are peoples feelings on Rocky being available for next year? Do we bring him home?

We've only got one other proper opener in Burns, who's cementing his place as England's best batsmen.
Rocky has come back to some sort of form this summer, too. Would be amazed if we let him go, unless we signed at least one other opener too
I honestly don't know about his contract situation mate, I'll be honest!Last year of his contract isn’t it? And he’s 34. I’m not expectant of him leaving you or coming to us for that matter, but it’s a question I was interested in asking given the ‘returnees’ we’ve had in recent years.
Perhaps your boys may be looking for a long term replacement? Given the financial pull they may look elsewhere/overseas? I don’t know, was thinking aloud really.
And Hampshire. And Yorkshire. Scabs.Well, all except K*nt.![]()
