Makes sense. Don't think he's played a game for us in the Blast this year, even with our England players away
 
Seems a bit dodgy that. What's to stop two teams loaning eachother players to monopolise tournaments?
 
Looking at info online it looks like Rocky signed a contract renewal to '"at least the end" of 2021 season. So they maybe a release clause at the end of this summer.
They will be a few county who would sign him if that is the case and he is allowed to move on.

Fair point. Lees is undroppable, Bancoroft the pro, Borthwick the skipper, Bedders the best record in the country. Probably open with Stoneman and Lees, Bancroft, Bedders, Borthwick as a top 5? I like Rocky but it would be a backward move when trying to bring through younger players imo.
 
If you brought back Rocky then you wouldn't need to have both your overseas as specialist batsmen and could probably not re-sign Bancroft who is never available for the whole season as his priorities are with his state team WA in Aussie. That would give them far more flexibility. Personally I wouldn't bring him back but then again I wouldn't have brought back Badger it Coggers.

Bancroft has been brilliant for us, especially in white ball. I would be loathed to let him go.

Re signing Coughlin was a mistake. Borthwick disappointing compared to the player who left us but still a good signing overall.

I would like to see Jones given a run in the team but we are struggling to fit everyone in unless there are injuries.

I suspect the likes of Yorkshire and Surrey will be sniffing around Bedingham soon.

The way I look at Bancroft is the same as all overseas they are only here on a visit and on loan. I just see them as temporary fillers to fix a weakness in the team. Bedingham is different as he has gone " all in" with Durham. There is probably a chance Bancroft doesn't even see out the season with us in the back end if September.
I wouldn't have brought back Coggers or Badger not on their ability but on the message it sends out to other players. I said at the time when they all left " good luck but no coming back when it suits you"
 
I'd take him back even if it's just for a year or two, to be honest I don't think we have many top orders batsmen coming through

Performed well for Durham for many years, and went to maximise his earnings in a sport where, outside the international stars, players don’t make mega money

for me this is miles away from Bent or Gyan moving to add another 0 to their personal wealth

Not to mention achieving his goals of winning the County Championship and playing for England, which he stated was his reason for heading south.
