Louise Wanless RIP

Terrible news. Was Louise the woman who was shown being treated shamefully on STID by Methven during a match when we were trying break the attendance record for League 1?

No. That was Sophie Ashcroft, who's now at the Foundation. CM wouldn't have been brave enough to talk like that to Louise. She was a lovely person, but you could sense that she wasn't someone you'd like to cross. A great act that, if you can pull it off.

Horrendous news. By all accounts she was absolutely brilliant with Bradley Lowery and his family a few years back and she always seemed like an absolute credit to the club. RIP

A few years ago, out of the blue, I got an email from her that was obviously intended for someone she was far more familiar with, advising me in quite a cheeky way that my balls were ready to collect at the SOL.

I twigged that SAFC must have been donating some footballs to a charity or junior team.

I emailed back and said I think I've got this email in error.

Her reply was instant and along the lines of oh, bugger yes with an apology.

I replied no problem and that I would keep it to myself if she sent me a football.

Her reply was instant "nice try, but no."

Just an all round smashing lass.

Had the pleasure of meeting Louise on a few occasions, wonderful person and loved the club. Massive shock to hear this news today. Thoughts go out to the family taking far too early.
RIP

It's genuinely very touching to see the reaction from all corners on Twitter to her passing. She really made a huge impression on all sorts of people.

Barry Sweeney has posted a photo of him and Louise holding an SAFC top and a lovely message.

RIP Louise Wanless. Devastated at the passing of such an inspirational Lady. I have a lot to thank her for after the MH17 tragedy. A great Loss not only to Sunderland and Middlesbrough but to us Geordies that had the privilege of meeting her

Spoke to the her a few times, she always came across as a nice lass. Really sad news and nee age..feel for her family..

Christ far to young. Just seen that photo of her with Bally. Used to see her at the reserves and always seemed a leading figure when any PR going ons with the club. Shame when one of the real carers for the club is no longer there. RIP.

Very sad, always great to deal with.
Speaks volumes how many football journalists from the national newspapers, other football clubs and ex players have tweeted lovely things about her.
