Durham v Essex


Great to be back. Couldn’t comprehend what was happening with the wicket/batting. From mid afternoon until the close 61 runs added for the loss of 11 wickets. Makes Peppers knock look like a monumental effort. Hopefully conditions will be more batting friendly this morning and we can get closer to their score. Wouldn’t bet on it though.

Made a big mistake yesterday. Didn’t take my own bait thinking I would help the economy by letting a local entrepreneur rob me blind. But the only stuff being sold seemed to be beer, coffee and ice cream. Where were the Stottie Co. in my hour of need? Big queue for the Members Lounge that didn’t seem to move and the Sticky Wicket didn’t appear much better. Walked up Ropery Lane and found a mini-mart which took a bit of time but got the job done. It’s now Greggs for the foreseeable.
 
Don't know what to make of all of that.

They say a new pitch takes a while to settle. But, bloody hell, some of those batsmen are among the best going.
