Agreed a bag is absolutely essentialI dont know about trying to avoid bringing a bag mind - virtually everyone brings one to a County Championship match - top coat, raincoat, brolly, suncream, sunglasses, woolly jumper, flask, sarnies, cakes, Playfair Annual etc etc.
How well do they search your bag? I might bring me hip flask along on Thursday or Friday with some medicine in it.
Yeah not even the RL50 games. Can’t recall being searched at a CC match. Think only time anybody gets searched is for T20 games.
How can you not bring a bag to an all day cricket match?
I would generally have binoculars, raincoat, battery phone chargers, blankets, reading material and food and drink appropriate to my various health conditions. Am I supposed to smuggle them up my arse?
"Seating capacity in the Members Balcony will be severely reduced" ....that really will give the regulars something to moan about.![]()
Met office have a more favourable forecast at the moment for Friday. I'm off all 4 days so plan to attendWell three days to go to the Riverside Return after 612 days away (611 for those who turned up for the hour of play we got on the 2nd day of the Glamorgan game way back in September 2019)
I've got an eye on the weather - Thursday seems its dull but dry, Friday looks a bit iffy with the best two days being the weekend but we all know that can change.
Cant wait for the match tbh and to see some of the old faces and it looks as if even my beloved Trapdoor Stand may be open.
Gates open at 9.30 and I'll have a stroll down for round about that time along with my holdall.
Anyone else planning to attend?
Have you reserved your usual seats?Met office have a more favourable forecast at the moment for Friday. I'm off all 4 days so plan to attend

I might be there on Thursday or Friday. Might ride my bike from Seaburn. I think the C2C route goes nearby.
Good shout, might do that myself. Will be there all 4 days. It’s been such a miss that if it’s pouring down I would still go just to watch the rain bounce off the covers.
