Benidorm looks like its suffering

Sounds like its the same for all parents and kids then

We called in for the day last year on the way back from our holiday down that way and the sea front has changed and looks quite nice with a lovely beach

However take a walk a street behind the sea front and it is horrid

I grew up in East Lancashire in the late 60s and 70s and Blackpool was still the magical place to go to escape the hard lives of Lancashire mill towns... we went for day trips, holidays and the illuminations. You could see top TV stars at its theatre shows and it was still vibrant everywhere from its Northern end to beyond the Pleasure Beach. It's a different place now though I agree the cosmetic changes to the sea front make it look better.

On the subject of its beaches, my sister lived in the North East for about 8 years in the 90s, and was a teacher in Gateshead. At one lesson she told the kids "you're really lucky to live in the North East because you've got lovely beaches at places like Seaburn and South Shields, whereas where I come from, the beaches at Blackpool are much dirtier and littered". Matthew aged 6 immediately responded saying "Miss, I'm going to Blackpool for my holidays this summer"

Not at all because if I was that would be fine, im sure you said i had blonde spikey hair last time so just shows what we all know.

Your a wind up merchant
You’re bald mate. Face facts
Hundreds of thousands in the UK rely on international tourism for a living, no overseas travel has a huge impact on the UK economy.

I wouldn’t say that’s selfish.
Nobody is on about Uk tourism. I am sticking up for it. I have Said I’m not bothered about Spain is what I’ve said, we have problems of our own
As I've already said, we'll agree to disagree but you seem unable to let it go.

Vaccine or no vaccine, this thing isn't going away.
It is over here now we’re vaccinated. That’s the way I want it to stay until other countries can say the same

When my kids were younger I would often drive them to Blackpool to show them what will happen if they didn’t do their homework.

Exactly, last time I was in Blackpool I decided I'd never be going back there again. However, I was in Benidorm 2 years ago and I'd happily go back there at the drop of a hat, now why would I do that if they were so similar?
Our gaff isn't anywhere near Benidorm but we do visit friends there . There a large parts of Benidorm that are way better than any British seaside resorts .

You're from Preston, man. 🤣

Aye - Blackpool makes Preston look like Monte Carlo.

😉
I've worked both, many times. Monte Carlo? It's more Beirut.

You appear to be cherry picking what I've said, to your own ends.

Odd that you haven't commented on my response to me "just wanting to make more money".
🤔

pontiente, La cala and the old town are really nice places. just avoid the scratter new town (still has a few decent bars tbf) full of cokeheads and bellends and you are sound.

Been all over the world and pound for pound there is nowt the matter with Beni.

If visiting that part of the world proper folk go to Ibiza anyway
I see the trendy Ibiza Virtue Signallers have arrived to the thread

Agreed and we need to stop people entering Britain without PROPER quarantine.

Non of this “remember to stay in your house“ drivel.

Put them in secure detention centres and test them before they are released.

Don’t like it - don’t come here!
And if anybody tries to escape....shoot them. Protect our country.

We are desperate to get back over there after 6 moths of winter here . But at the moment airlines, ferry, car-hire websites are all speaking with forked tongue . As soon as I'm confident we can get there and they'll let us in we'll be there . Unfortunately it will be only for 3 months, same as last year . We'll be starting the Residencia process anarl .
