Benidorm looks like its suffering

We have 34 active cases in the entirety of the Valenciana province. That is the lowest number, per capita, in the whole of Europe. I feel much safer here than I would in the UK or anywhere else in Spain. Boris' blanket ban, is ridiculous, given the figures. Travel should be determined by area, rather than each country, as a whole.
I don't want this to stray into politics, but it is not just a blanket ban from Boris though is it. Currently, the whole of the EU prevents people from outside the bloc from entering unless essential.

The end result of having more granular rules would ultimately lead to some Border Guard somewhere with a stack of A-Zs making sure that a traveller isn't from those few streets in Bolton, for example, gaining entry.

What can YOU do? Not a lot, I would imagine. I don't know your skill sets, so I couldn't really comment.

What can I do? All sorts, (under normal circumstances).
There’s absolutely nothing that’s why. I’ve asked you a question so you can explain why you think people should be allowed to go to Benidorm and you can’t answer. The fact is you simply are being selfish and want to earn more money. It’s obvious.
Your posting style is bullying everybody knows it
Do they? Have you surveyed the board like. You’re the first ever person who has said that so I wouldn’t be so confident.

We're hardly talking "a few streets". There are over 5 million people in the Valencia region, (about half of the population of Portugal) and we have had the lowest infection rate in Europe for each and every day of the last eight months. There has to come a time where we are deemed safe enough to return to some form of normality, given those figures, surely.

See above.

I'm not actually being selfish. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm doing very little of the work that's around at the minute because some of my friends need the money far more than I do.
Most of the money I'm earning, I'm donating to the local food bank. You couldn't possibly be more wrong about me, marra.

You mean you’re upset because I revealed you’re bald?

Until the whole country is vaccinated it is correctly banned. I’m all for it too.

I do see what you are driving at, but, when we put Valencia on the Green list, there will be some conurbation that will point to their low rate and demand the same concession although their Province has a higher rate, and on and on it goes. At the moment both the UK and the EU are classifying by Country and anything less will be more difficult to administer.

In Spain, each "Comunidad" is, effectively, autonomous and as such, is self governed.

It is very different to the UK or any of the countries, therein.

Hundreds of thousands in the UK rely on international tourism for a living, no overseas travel has a huge impact on the UK economy.

I wouldn’t say that’s selfish.

Problem is there’s nothing stopping someone travelling from another region with higher infection rates to fly out from Alicante airport.

The argument that you might be bringing the virus in is a dubious one though as we’ve never fully cleared it here, despite the lockdown measures, and it’s looking like the Indian B variant is already here and spreading fast.

Just got to hope the vaccinations we’ve done are enough to at least keep hospitalisation and deaths down.

I think there is. It's far easier to stop people from other regions here, than in the UK. During restrictions, we weren't even allowed into or out of town without producing a padrón, (address paper) to show where we were from, at the roadblocks set up at every road exit.
