The Wisden podcast this week made the point that Sky apparently chose Middlesex specifically because their stream is so good already. They've invested a lot of money into it apparently, with three cameras already (Sky are adding another one and then just using their facilities already) and hiring two commentators who are already very well respected specifically for the stream, as opposed to just adding the radio one that most teams have done. They have Izzy Westbury (a London mag it turns out) and Adam Collins (aussie who appears on everything these days), the last two winners on the cricket broadcaster of the year normally, but Sky are adding Atherton, Key, Nasser etc.

But having said that, I somehow doubt even if Durham had the worlds greatest stream then they'd be tracking up.

In general, cricket media has such a bias towards county cricket in the south, all the journos live there, I'd say 90% of cricket journos go to watch Surrey.

I don't know why Leach bats 11 for them. Whenever he gets a crack higher up the order, e.g nightwatchman, he scores 30+. Not a huge range of scoring shots but better defensive technique than a lot of specialist batsmen.

canny lower order batsman Somerset mind, part of their success, all chip in, agree think he would bat higher for most sides

Love how he just doesnt give it away in tests, people forget we nearly scraped a draw in at Ashes in Old Trafford thanks to him and Overton too

Saw little bits and he played some nice shots. Key and Hussain thought he looked a class above according to a clip sky posted on their Twitter. Think him and Robinson will probably debut against New Zealand if Sibley and Stokes aren’t fit
