pretty confident that collingwood being around will have helped the development of younger players at the club, even if he took their spot. i'm sure the same is true with darren stevens.

PC was batting 6 or 7 in the last 3 seasons and barely bowling bar in T20.

this blokes still opening the bowling with his part time (he was a batsman util he was about 32) 60mph trundlers. Blows my mind.

FC bowling average of 24. if they think he's their best opening bowler then i assume he must be

It is mad and like you I'm baffled how he has achieved the success he has with the ball when he basically didn't really start bowling seriously until he was in his 30s and moved to Kent. But you have to give the bloke credit if it was so easy to bowl in the style of a weekend club bowler like he does and be so successful there would be more doing the same job. There is plenty of medium pace dobbers in the county game but to be still doing it at 45 and still scoring runs including 100s is some effort.

Blows my mind honestly. Ive been moaning about him for years :lol:. Probably says a lot about the quality if county cricket too, all told.

I imagine you'd be inspired by the presence of a 'Kent legend' (I'm sure that's how he's seen, especially to the younger generation)

Yeah probably right with 18 teams there is a decent percentage of each counties squad who are actually not good enough to make the grade. Also the reason why counties are obsessed with overseas players to try and raise the standard.
 
Kiran Carlson for Glamorgan made an unbeaten 127 in the first innings of their current game with Sussex. He’s now unbeaten on 129 in the second innings.

One to keep an eye on, 22 years old, I believe he’s also the youngest Glamorgan centurion (not for this game :lol:)
