Isn't revealing that really weakening the argument that the state and the investment fund were totally separate entities though?
It think it's thrown more confusion on it, it also has a declaration from a senior UK minister that PIF and him the Saudi government are separate (not my opinion).

Can't see the Premier League changing their mind
The Premier League never made a decision. PIF withdrew due to frustration.

Probably behind the scenes the process did not end.

Ashley appointed lawyers. If you look at his business history he has a track record for using legal means to get his way. He has also been conspicuous in the Middle East in recent weeks. I am not sure it is because he is trying to flog Donnay tennis rackets in Dubai.

It suggests that a lot of pressure is being exerted on the FA.

Ashley has closed the shop at the shit tip and sold it to their new kit supplier apparently. They buy fuck all there so makes sense for him to hand it over. They are saying its because the Saudis have this request in the contract. It means nowt. Ashley probably holds a % of the profits

If the Saudis lobbied the fat mess last year and it didn't go through then I can't see the PL changing their stance so nothing has changed. They'll jump all over it though

Joint statement from Pif, PCP, and the Reuben’s organisation last summer:

“Unfortunately the prolonged process under the current circumstances coupled with global uncertainty has rendered the potential investment no longer commercially viable.”

Haven’t seen anything in the last 9 months to suggest that they now view a takeover as commercially viable again, and have consequently put the bid back on the table.

I'm surprised its taken this long to close it to be honest. You never hear of anyone going into the club shop these days, and last time I went in was probably best part of 7-8 years ago. I was the only person in and was pretty hard to find staff as well.

Apparently its gonna be a shop for our new kit supplier moving forward, albeit they have a pretty poor reputation for the quality (or lack of) their gear .

Ashley has fallen out with Adidas & Nike (I used to work for Nike) over terms.

Wouldn't surprise me if Ashley has cut a deal with the new suppliers to take away the SD aspect of the kit sales as the Mags are boycotting his shops.

Surely if this was part of the fakeover the new owners would have negotiations with the big hitters and not, as you say, a lower quality brand.

Nike sponsor the Saudi national team. Signing a deal with a newcomer such as Castore really doesn't fit in with Middle Eastern ideology.

Ahh its got nothing to do with the Saudis at all, been a long time coming. I think our merchandise sales have fallen massively over the last decade or so anyway, and anyone that does buy stuff surely does it online now in the main.

Rangers fans were kicking off all over Twitter complaining about the quality of the gear when their strip was first released.

Aye I heard similar. Apparently on top of that their customer service is terrible as well. To be honest even if I wanted to buy a new football top, which I have not for about 20 years, the price of them these days is a joke anyway for a thin bit of material.
