When Johnson was appointed

He has surpassed my expectations by an absolute mile. Anything 6th and above is an achievement considering where we were and how poor we were playing. At the time it looked like we had no where near enough quality for top 6.

where we were = where we are.

when Johnson was appointed, we were 5 points off 2nd place. We are still 5 points off 2nd place now.

Parkinson PPG (without McGeady the saviour) - 1.77
Johnson PPG (with McGeady the saviour) - 1.77

Couple of important stats when you consider whether Johnson has performed miracles.
Have never been entirely convinced with Johnson even during the winning run but that stat is an eye-opener

The sad thing for me is I really expected better football once Parkiola left.

Well if Parkinson was considered a disaster with us being 5 points adrift of the automatic promotion places and we still remain that after 26 more games under a new manager and after a transfer window, I’m not sure we’ve really made much progress.

Had Parkinson stayed, I’d have backed us to finish in the play offs (that represents failure) and it looks like that’s where we’re going to finish still. Johnson has done ok since he came in but nothing more. I thought after Portsmouth it may have been a turning point and we’d really get a grip of this league but, exactly like his predecessors, it looks like he’s not going to go a step further.

Where do you get your stats from?

Would you have took a play off place ?
Probably yes for me, obviously it’s very disappointing getting close to the top two then bottling it.
I think they’ll be more twists and turns at the top. Hull and Peterborough will drop points. They’re not that good just slightly more consistent and had a head start. We’re probably better than them just had a dreadful time under Parkinson and didn’t adapt to LJ quickly enough. Let’s see what comes next before we make a judgment. If we won the next game and they dropped a point it’d be game back on.

seen it mentioned earlier. Just worked it out for myself and I now don't think the stats are right. Goes to show don't believe everything you read.

edit: I've actually used games in all competitions which obviously can't be factored in for PPG. In conclusion, I've no idea...
