Wasn’t his initial set up his usual with Geads in AOB role?

Ish. Diamond on the left and Jones on the right was weird for me. And AoB offers more defensively (not that should be a primary consideration for an attacking player) and Power and Scowen just had too much ground to cover and didn’t do anywhere near enough with the ball to reset us.

Well I wonder what Johnson will say about that, yes the defending was abysmal at corners that isn’t his fault but what was his fault was the way we played we created nothing all game, we didn’t go down the left once.
FUCKIN SHITE
Ps I don’t want him sacked
Ps o do

We weren’t 13th when he was sacked. We were 7th and (iirc) we were 5 points off top.

We’ve won two of the last six and performances have not been anything like good since Portsmouth really. The performance data hasn’t showed significant improvements from the Parkinson era either by the way. We’ve had a good run under Johnson, in a very similar fashion as we did under Parkinson last season (at a very similar time of the season too).

That isn’t being contrarian, and I’m not calling for his dismissal either, but these statements about improvements are OTT. We’ve simply had a good run of results that we’ve had under the two previous managers at this level.
aye the stats are what count

Maguire not on the bench is criminal, particularly when your attacking substitutes include Stewart, he can actually change a game when he comes on

I actually don’t mind Stewart. But Maguire offers something different and he’s got a proven record of big impacts.

diamond probably the only mildly decent performer today

Without an end product. Yes the side was tactically ineffective but that’s when your individual difference makers need to produce.

The set up didn’t highlight any of the strengths of the front four. Diamond running away from Hume nullified the only improvement he’s got over McFadzean.

All in all I don’t think the majority of players were 100% comfortable with their roles and responsibilities. Add in a lack of energy and you get that sort of performance. Not a lot of leadership on the pitch.
