He's been thrown to the lions since he joined, but then all managers under Ashley are the only regular line of communication from the club. So when the fans aren't happy, they have to face the firing squad, even when the fan discontent is about goings on away from the pitch.

He doesn't help himself though.

I'm sure more amenable, owners with more concern for human rights would love to run every decision past the Geordie nashun if they could pay up 1%. That sounds reasonable and normal.

The difference is they don't stamp their feet and cry like bitches or give a perfectly reasonable owner any amount of abuse because they haven't got one.

Having not read that, Iā€™m wondering how they can draw parallels with the way he runs his business and the less than stellar human rights record and frankly medieval manner in which the house of Saud behave.
Im not a fan of Ashley or the way he runs his operations, but to compare the two is bizarre and quite desperate.
