But, but, but..... the Saudis wanted to invest in the region.

No sportswashing involved, oh no!

Also included is analysis of deals that never came to fruition following an outcry, including a $6m offer to footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to be the face of the Kingdomโ€™s tourism body Visit Saudi and a controversial $400m takeover-bid for Newcastle United.

Why on earth would you hope/be content with relegation......it will just keep Fat Mike here longer, stay up and more chance of him pi55ing off along with Stevie boy
Not sure I buy that (although I do question a lot of what the original poster said re enjoyment outside of the Premier League).

The two previous times we went down we were fortunate to have a very good squad and a steady hand under Chris Hughton, and a lot of sellable assets, and a good squad builder in Rafa Benitez. I'm not convinced we have either this time around. If we survive, Ashley will keep holding out for that ยฃ300m+ and hoping he can push through the Saudi deal. He also will see no need to rock the boat by sacking Bruce. Survival is success under that giant cabbage.

I think, genuinely, for the first-time Ashley is desperate to sell. He wants rid of the hassle of it all. If we go down and don't fly out the traps he'll know it's going to take more time and might just accept a lesser bid. That may be wishful thinking tbh, because I just want him and Bruce fucked off.

Why don't you and the other scruffs not buy the clurb then?

OH and maybe the Sports Direct Arena too?

It's a fair point, if our millions and millions of fans all chipped in a pound...

That suggestion from Rio Ferdinand did give me a chuckle. I think it works out about ยฃ7-9k each for the ยฃ350m? To be honest, I would be hesitant about a fan base like ours owning the club. It's very divided at the best of times.

But we keep hearing that Newcastle supposedly have millions of fans around the world. You only need 1 of those millions to chip in ยฃ300-ยฃ350 each and you can do whatever you want after that.

Was it ever floated as an idea before KLD arrived? I make it about ยฃ800 a head based on stadium capacity and rumoured price Donald wanted.

I'm going to be honest, I've heard that brought up a lot here, but I never once saw or heard of people doing that. To that end, I don't really have an answer for you.
