It would be brilliant if Mourinho managed them, he’s absolutely shite nowadays, Spurs want shot of him, Man Utd got shot of him, Chelsea got shot of him and so on and so on.

He loves wasting money on complete and utter shite as well, reminds me of Rafa.
Another big name though that's all they're bothered about. It's pretty embarrassing tbh and just shows the fanbase they have

She's a fraud, I'm surprised Caulkin has been taken in by her. She's about as credible as that William Storey clown
The difference is she has actually completed on one deal. In a lot of ways that makes her more dangerous.
That egotistical twat only ‘loved’ Newcastle when he thought they were going to be bought by the Saudis. His faux love for Bobby Robson as his ‘link’ was shameful and purely opportunistic
I agree with you that I don't think he loves Newcastle, but I think he has a genuine affection for Sir Bobby. Mourinho, along with Villas-Boas, owe the first major step of their career to him. It's not like they were benefactors of nepotism either, he just took a chance on them.

If he had enough affection for Bobby Robson to want to manage a club then he would go and manage Ipswich. Robson managed them for 13 years and won them a couple of trophies. He didn't have a great deal to do with your lot in comparison, and he had the fans on his back when he was sacked at the end of his trophyless 5 year stint as well.

Again, not sure he should drop into League One to show his love for Sir Bobby.

I think Mourinho's angle is, Newcastle was Sir Bobby's club, one they spoke about, and he saw him go to manage after they went their separate ways. I think his love for the place is more a sense of politeness, but his love and appreciation for Sir Bobby is genuine, as evidenced by what he's done for the charity down the years and how he speaks about him.

If his "love and appreciation" for Bobby is so strong, what do you think he will feel about the fans who were vile enough to spit on him and force him out of the club ?

I'm going to be honest, I've heard that brought up a lot here, but I never once saw or heard of people doing that. To that end, I don't really have an answer for you.

It happened after Robson dropped Keegan from the England squad

” The Geordie public certainly seemed to take Keegan’s side, Robson later claiming he was abused, threatened and spat at when he returned to the north-east a few months after the issue arose"

Oh wow, my apologies, I take it back.

I'd always assumed that people were claiming Newcastle fans spat at him when he was our manager or towards the end of his time with us. Either way, it's unacceptable, and I hope those people step on lego every morning when they wake up. That's disgusting. I can only speak to my own memories/opinions of him, having once seen him in an airport, and I loved the bloke. When you're a kid it's easy to get carried away with football, but even now, I watch his interviews and you could see he had such a passion for the game but also a reverence for the north-east. That kind of tallies with me.

Well that was a nice weekend free from the usual 90 minutes of shite haha. Roll on Sunday and a regulation 2-0 Spurs win. WATTBA. However, I'm getting more and more on terms with the derbies returning next season.

It looks like all the new contracts have and still are being put into place ready for the championship.
We are potentially 100% nailed on for the championship and I don't see anything that tells me any different.

Players to go will be the saint, Miggy, Dubravka, Wilson, Lascelles (maybe) Joelinton (for a massive loss)...and maybe one or two others.
It'll leave us with a very very good championship squad with likely decent championship additions.

A wage bill that will likely be cut down to size and also a stab at fighting for promotion places. And likely....either, having a stab at getting straight back into the premier league or enjoying the parachute payments and being close but not quite close enough to promotion and having a few seasons in the championship.

Ashley will recoup a good amount of money back on transfers out, plus big wages off the bill, which will enable him to sell the club for a lot less money and make it appealing to whoever takes up whatever the new selling price will be.

Let's be honest, it doesn't look like the premier league will allow a north east club to have a blank cheque type owner to threaten the elite clubs, so Ashley's probably seeing a better way to deal his hand.

Not sacking Bruce is another pointer towards his mindset.

Am I happy about this?
Not in the way Ashley's going about it (if my suspicions are right)...but I just think, we, as a club, are playing also ran to the top 6 or 8 teams.
Basically around 12 clubs will always be playing catch up and regularly taking one step forward and ten steps back.

I don't ever want to see football like this so I'm quite content to see us go down and more than happy to take on a championship mindset, as long as we actually play some good attacking football that excites me.

I think the premier league is so corrupt.
I've lost a lot of interest in watching other clubs in it.

Do I sound depressed?
To be honest I feel invigorated knowing I'm accepting my fate as a fan.
There's no ambition from Ashley because he knows it's almost impossible.

The premier league is for super rich owners to play money merry-go-round and share spoils for their small group while the rest foot the bill with a futile attempt to keep up with the so called Jones'.

If I don't have this mindset then my time as a hopefully, butterfly in the stomach, Newcastle United football fan, is doomed.

What I mean is, if we go back into the premier league with the same mindset, we just carry on as per usual and it's soul destroying.
Soooooooo, for me to accept going back into the premier league and actually see a fight against the elites, I have to accept a deal with the devil and not care how and why the deal was done.

This means I have to hope we get a super rich, money no object owner who doesn't care who he/she buys or how much wages are paid.
Basically I have to go with the flow of being part of what's wrong with football just to get some fantasy enjoyment about playing with the elites.

It kills Newcastle United as a proper club and replaces it with a plastic element......but... I become that along with the rest who partake in it.

Championship and below, if need be, for me to keep my real Newcastle United experience, until such time that the premier league becomes a normal fight out among all teams and not just a small posse of regulars.
