India v England 3rd ODI

In club cricket aye. In international cricket they will check anything to avoid 1% chance of a mistake.
Tbf in that example I think the ump was right in wanting to be correct.

But there have been "iffy" decisions in every single game of this tour that have gone India's way.

I know I can be a bit OTT at times, but I don't think I've ever fallen into the trap of "my side has lost, it has to be the fault of external circumstances!" - but the Umpiring in this tour has been shocking towards England. Not saying it's the reason we lost all three formats, far from it - but it hasn't helped, and if I were a player, I'd have been close to losing my cool.

Even the, I think second Test when england were docked match fees despite it being India that were squaring up to Umpires!

It makes a mockery of top level sport.

If they are wanting to avoid mistakes then the 3rd umpire has made an absolute tonne in this whole tour. And had every possible camera angle to help his decisions.

Those moments tended to favour the Indians the majority of the time I believe.

Funny that.
As I say, I've never been one to just resort to "we lost, so it's definitely cheating!", but they go so many go their way.

I don't know if it's "support bias", or if the BCCI had a word in their ear - but it was blatant.

I don't believe any Umpire ever sets foot on a pitch to influence a decision. Same with football referees. I can only assume there was a certain amount of pressure on them, that led to them leaning the way they did

There's been issues with the 3rd umpiring but in my view the on field umpiring has been e=very good. Some people think i'm being contrary saying that but Hussain was saying the same thing today. It seems to me that every time there was a umpires call decision went against us it was clearly cheating (according to this forum) but Kohli and Rohit (more than once) were given out umpires call also. Going into the last innings of the last test the umpires calls were equal between the sides. Anyway its an old argument now and no-one minds are going to change. Roll on the English summer.

It's certainly wrong, some of the decisions were bordering cheating. Over the top maybe but I couldn't believe my eyes a lot of the time.

Fair enough mate. I know we'll never agree on this, and I respect you and your opinion - you just can't convince me that they were not heavily influenced India's way.
As I say, I don't think it was a conscious decision from them!

Roll on NZ. Should be two great Tests!

Absolutely agree mate.

I hope the players use the experience and motivation they should have from this tour to go and win the World Cup in India. After also beating them in the summer of course
Another 4-1 incoming

I'd play every single Test oop north and have the greenest of green tops on every wicket if it were me.

You have to give allowances for umpires in the field making split second decisions it is natural they will make mistakes, it's what DRS is for.

But the behaviour of the third umpires has proven them to be biased in favour of the home team imo.
There is absolutely no excuse for "missing" no balls etc.
Spending five minutes poring over a close decision that isn't going their way, desperately trying to find a reason to reverse the decision.
While taking 5 milliseconds over a close one going theirs because they don't want to find anything.

Also for people saying it's all in fans heads, I recall Bob talking about a tour of Australia where the home umpires gave England nothing.
I may be mistaken but I believe he said England didn't get a single LBW decision given against Australia on the entire tour.

Shame that we lost the game, but was really exciting particularly towards the end. Think England and India are pretty evenly matched with the white ball.

The test performances were a bit more concerning however.
