He's loaned the club money, meaning he'll get it back, on top of the free advertising and questionable retail contracts he's likely installed.

If you saw what he did with Rangers and the retail stuff you can bet he's got us tied up in something similar. I won't argue, the Oyston's are the worst. I also don't expect you to launch a public appeal on our behalf. Where I disagree is the notion that we've in any way got it good. I think we can agree that Ellis Short was good intention, bad action. We don't have a good intention with Ashley. That's why the 'money he's invested' is a bit of a red herring.

Currently, our cycle is:
  1. Try to keep transfers in the black, and be content with anything 17th or above (qualifying for Europe is a burden).
  2. If relegated, loan the club money to either cover costs of wages or sign new players to get promoted.
  3. Earn promotion, enjoy a bit of a buzz while spirits are high and players care, before eventually returning to point one.
The thing is, if he just did really basic things like, didn't go cheap on a manager like Bruce or McClaren, and addressed the squad's needs when they arose instead of trying to sniff out a bargain, we wouldn't have to go through 2 or 3. He talks about wanting more academy lads to make it but doesn't invest in the facilities (which are dog shit). He's always moving the goal posts. You guys have top notch facilities hence why you had a raft of good kids come through.

Keegan and Gullit resigned, Keegan even did it with England. Ricky Sbragia even did it with you lot.
Very very few on this forum could give a tinkers toss about scumcastle ununited, you do realise this thread exists to take the piss out of your shambles of a clurb, your BS statistics are as boring as your colleagues who post on here NO ONE GIVES A TOSS ABOUT YOUR TEAM OR MANAGER, YOUR FAMOUS NUMBER 9 SHIRT (no other team in the world has one of those ffs!!) YOUR SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FA CUP (how many are still alive since the last time you won it? ffs!!) AS FOR YOUR HISTORY SAFC BEATS YOU HANDS DOWN, so please bore off back to a scum forum and stop stinking this place out

What a b@st@rd, can’t believe even he would stoop that low.

1. That’s called living within your means, balancing the books, keeping the club safe, etc... Would you rather he adopted the Leeds or Sunderland approach?
2. That’s what the supporter of every club would hope their owner would do.
3. Apart from the big 6, you’ve just described the rest of the clubs in the Premier and probably all league clubs hoping to get there.

Time for your lot to wake up, these things happen, ask WBA, Sheffield, Norwich, Leeds, Wolves, etc... you can have bad seasons, that’s life.

A nothing club who the media wank over because they had a bit of limelight and nearly won something last century.

Leicester piss all over them in every department by the 56 thooosand bollocks yet the media don’t wank over them.

The way they still go on about the fat Spanish waiter is embarrassing, the thick bastards don’t realise he walked away to a job that had been planned for weeks or months. The takeover nonsense is cringeworthy, they walked away but they cling on to the chronicles every fake story.

Their fans are a fuckin shambles.

Aye those Chinese WorkvVisas are easy to get

Has it cost him money? He paid c135m and has had many years of naming rights worth around 2m a year plus touchline advertising. I also imagine it has been very helpful in his tax efficiency, especially when losses were made. If you stay up he will sell for c350m. Had he of given Rafa free reign on signings it could also have gone terribly wrong (he signed some awful players at Liverpool)P and he might be doing an Ellis Short and walking away with nothing or you could be awaiting the CL quarter final draw. Bar Utd, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton, Newcastle must have the most seasons in the top flight since 2007? True, he has trusted managers on the Manager merry-go-round but other clubs have tried being more exotic (Watford, Swansea off the top of my head) and look where they are now. Due to the brief flirtation with success in the late 90's and the many European mini-breaks you all enjoyed it was a thankless task buying Newcastle as any owner was on a hiding to nothing. Relegation and a dose of reality will realign fans expectations as it has with ourselves.
When I say give him control of signings, I didn't mean a blank cheque book, just the freedom to reinvest monies from players sold (and maybe a base £30m or something). Given Ashley's aim is to keep his merchandising vehicle in the top flight, it seems a much safer bet than rolling the dice on another failed manager.

Yes, other clubs have recruited managers that haven't worked out, but Bruce (and McClaren) is a proven loser. It's rare that a manager has a long history of failure suddenly turning it around. And of course there's a middle ground between relatively unknown coaches and the rolodex of useless gomers we've endured. We could have attracted Rodgers (at the time).

Re: the last point, this fans expectations thing has fuck all to do with the managerial recruitment or the owner's mistakes. I don't believe Newcastle fans actually do have delusions of grandeur, wanting more than mere survival isn't deluded, is it? Wanting non-terrible football isn't deluded, is it? Also, Ashley hasn't tried to satisfy the misattributed demands of the fans, so it's not like our fervor has had him make damaging decisions. Even if we were asking for the moon on a stick, Bruce isn't good enough to deliver on the Premier League stage. The world could see where Bruce would take us, his ability is below PL standard now and has been for some time.

I think Bruce is perfect for you. He has a deluded, self entitled, bit simple way about him. Very much like your fanbase.

You are where you should be man. You've never been a big club. To be a big club you have to win at least 6 titles and have won a Cup in the last 5 days. Its edging on 70 years for you lot you daft twat.
 When was the last time you won a cup? 1970s?

So in other words he has ran the club sensibly and put his own money in to cover costs of transfers etc which most owners would do. He also went big and brought Rafa to the club (who you lot seem to adore for some reason), a big name manager and he still got you relegated playing appalling football. So it looks like Ashley cant win with you deluded morons
 When was the last time you won a cup? 1970s?
Couple of weeks ago actually. So thats 2 trophies since you last won one

Neither was Rafa then as he got you relegated

Oh, the Papa Johns Trophy? Aye, I was disappointed our academy didn't get past the group stage.

You asked when the last time we won a trophy was and I answered.

That other point is true though, Rafa got you relegated. Considering the position you were in there is no way a "top class" manager would have got you relegated. You base your hero worship of him on the fact that he won other trophies at far bigger clubs than yours and are claiming them through association

Profits since 2008 (m) : -20, -32, -33, 0, 5, -1, 5, 19, 0, -90, 18, 35 = -94m overall. Where is this 30m going to come form? Ashley is already owed 111m.

If he had extended the loan by 30m each season he would be owed close to half a billion!

No way a top class manager would get that team relegated? Behave yourself man. Look at Klopp's last 8 games. That form would have seen us go down with fewer points. And he's working with a much, much better side.

What they squealing about anyway ?
If they get relegated, they will sell a couple of players for big money, let the dead wood go, reorganise the squad for nil net spend, blast their way to promotion and Ashley's quids in again esp as the daft twats will still turn up despite the "I'm not gannin back til til the FCB's gone" bollocks. They can talk the talk but not....
Absolute bunch of drama queens.
No relegation clauses in the player contracts and ASM release fee is only 15 mill(according to a Mag at work) The parachute payments may go into player wages.

That's why I said maybe. If the team doesn't need it, or the monies can be raised through player sales alone, we're fine.
