Yorkshire v Durham 2 day friendly

You’ll be happy to see Jones in there I imagine marra?

Looks like there’s an opportunity for someone to stake a claim prior to Bancroft arriving anyway.

147-1, 5 batsmen have had a go, only Lees has been dismissed.
If you read the Yorkshire website they have 2 2 day games today and tomorrow. Home v Durham and away v Middlesex.
The Yorkies have done us a favour(??) by sending their 1st team to Middlesex and their 2nd team to play Durham.
Thoughts on this ?
Shows just how strong the Yorkies are being able to arrange two friendlies at the same time. I’m just happy our boys are getting some cricket under their belts, been very critical in the past of a lack of preparation but this is a good start.

At first glance Marra it doesn't look a big squad to pick from 🤔

bit twattish behaviour really (typical you'd expect from the yakshites) but we're probably quite happy to get an easy one early i guess

I don’t see a problem with it to be honest. Appears to me like they’re confident they’ve got the resources to field two sides and are trying to get the most competitive opposition they can for both.

all depends if we knew about it in advnace i suppose. still probably stronger than a uni side but if we wanted a stern test and find out were playing their seconds when we could have arranged a friendly against a different county, or just have changed the dates a bit then i think it's twattish arrogance.

223/1 declared then get the opposition 62/3 by the close of play, not bad s few more days like this we could do a Man City............... Oh hang on its only March but much better feeling than this time last year.

Really optimistic for the season ahead, not just for the cricket either - the feel good factor in the country if we get back to normal will be class - think the squad is looking very strong in comparison to the other Division Two sides* and I really feel like the future is looking bright for DCCC.

*I know there isn’t a normal divisional structure for this year.

Yorkshire 181-6 in their second dig. Durham to bat now for 30 overs.

Wickets for Carse, Coughlin (2), Potts, Salisbury and Borthwick.

Is this effectively Yorkshire’s seconds?

I noticed they were also playing at Middlesex.
