In that regard, I don't think the two clubs are that different. I'm sure you'd say to me that Sunderland have the potential to be one of the biggest teams in England and should be pushing the top end of the table. I say the same about us.
The chances of either club pushing the top end of the table is very remote. The top clubs have Champions League money as well as regular Sky money, sell out crowds/hospitality paying top money, lucrative sponsorship deal, etc... Man Utd have just signed a near £50m per year shirt sponsorship deal. Look at the turnover of the big 6 compared to Newcastle, look at the price of Arsenal or Chelsea season tickets compared to up here. They can pull in 25,000 and still generate more match day cash than the north east clubs.

The only way to compete is by investing in your academy and hope you get lucky, even then you know it’ll only be short term success because in sport today, money normally ends up on top. Personally I think KLD realises this and is why he’ll invest in the academy and slowly build the club again, rather than throw money at it as a short term fix.

An attempt has been made to 'serve' bin salman by the yanks. It surely won't come to anything other than he wont be doing any state visits, but it's still humorous to see then banging on about the reeejun while a country makes an effort to take him to court over a murder

I’d settle for going down and getting rid of the pair of them. The life has been sucked out of our club for years, we’re merely existing.
And if we go down again it wont be as easy as last two times.....more chance of getting rid of Fat Mike if still in premiership and if Mike sells up Stevie boy will be first out the door with new owner. Next season with fans back in stadium fingers crossed will be a nightmare for the both of them as it will be nothing like previous protests/demonstrations, Stevie boy wouldn't be here now if it were not for covid
