The vast majority of clubs have it worse.

Newcastle fans are the rich kid complaining daddy won't buy them a new car when there's is now 2 years old.

Presumably you would say that kid has a right to complain as well? Because it's irrelevant that most kids would love a 2 year old car paid for by daddy
To improve your analogy; Newcastle fans are the rich kid that complains daddy doesn't care about them and makes them go to the posh school in market plimsolls and without a mobile phone.
There are kids who don't even get to go to the posh school, who don't have shoes let alone a phone. Doesn't mean the rich kid can't complain.
I'd say football has changed more over the last decade than it has from 92 to 2002

Funny how to you don't want to compare that era though.

Clubs are now businesses. Partner clubs, loaning 10 players out at time to farm youngsters, clubs having second chances of champions League winning the Europa

None of this was existing when NUFC briefly challenged.

So you think the signings of ASM Almiron Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser are ambitions to finish 17th?

I would disagree with that personally but that destroys your point doesn't it 😂
Has it? from 92 to 2002 we saw the growth of the Premier League, Sky, influx of foreign players, foreign managers, focus on diet and exercise.

I would say those signings for this manager are an attempt to stay in the division. Which is all MA cares about. Which is why he'll happily loan the club £30m when we're relegated, to make sure we get back in the top flight where more viewers will see his adverts and his investment is suddenly 'worth' over £100m more to possible new owners.

Let's use the 14 year periods you used but to keep it fair we'll use the 14 year period you rave about Ashleys 14 year and the 14 year before.

The glory years = avg position 8th
The Ashley years = 14th
The previous 14 = 25th

You're not far off your best spell in the last 42 year but much higher than your worst.

And be entitled delulded spoilt wankers?
No more or less deluded or entitled than the Arsenal fans wanting Wenger out because he only got them Champions League every season, or Chelsea fans wanting Conte gone even though he won a league title and an FA Cup, or Sunderland fans wanting a manager gone because he didn't get you promoted.

We've all got our own battles.

This has to be one of the dumbest tropes around. Someone has it worse, so you can't complain about your troubles.

Because football has changed significantly in the past 30yrs, let alone the last century.

No, you haven't. Ask the PL fans if they'd have Ashley over their own owners.

You really are a deluded simpleton

Hows your one going with the co-op?

It's not solely about league finish though, is it? How many European seasons in the 'Glory years', how many seasons in the latter stages of Cups, what was the football like, what standard of player did we have? How many relegations have we had since, how many seasons where we've spent a lot of the time in the bottom 3, what standard of players have we had?

Over the 129 years our top flight record has us about 9th. Now, nobody has a divine right to anything, but given our all time history, and the 15yrs prior to Ashley's tenure, is it not fair to say that he's taken us backwards, rather than forwards or even keeping us where we were?

How much money did you borrow (unsustainabl)

From Washington mate. There's literally hods of the fuckers. Always fun & games
Hi mate think your the guy in the Newport and on Monday we're catching up about Newport when they played Carl Zeiss Jena? .... But i can't find thread.... I think another poster wanted to know what happened or it might have been you..? .. Just watched highlights on YouTube basically they drew 2 each away in East Germany and then for the return Newport only needed a draw because of away goals, however in front of 18k CZJ scraped a one nil win to through to the semi finals.... Newport had chance after chance, goalie played a blinder and ref disallowed goal despite Newport saying it was a foot over the line.... I'll dig the link out and send it... Apologies if I've got wrong poster!

The question was basically how much better did you do?
Answer = loads.

Now answer mine.
How much unsustainable borrowed money did you spend?
The question was 'has he taken us backwards', which I think it's fair to say your answer agrees with?

Honestly, I don't know how much was borrowed by Shepherd & Hall, but I understand it was borrowed to improve the stadium, rather than the playing staff (as was the case with Leeds). Happy for you to tell me, though.
