"If Newcastle are decently ran.... That should automatically put them above Sunderland" what a crock of shit, was the fucker who wrote this on glue at the time, f***ing deluded knob jockey.
There is also a couple of reasons from my perspective: (i) the fact that you lauded him though he never won anything but enjoyed basking in the reflective glory of his past merits. I have never known a set of fans who enjoy reflective glory more than Newcastle fans; (ii) apologies I forget the exact time line but a pal of mine was working on his house (incredible!) and it was a pretty open secret he was going to China long before the end of the season. So the "Ashley didn't back him" was just PR as he was off to China in any case. Newcastle, being 3 hours ish away, suited him when his youngest was doing GCSE's and oldest A'levels.Like we did Hughton?
If you honestly think Benitez is a average-to-poor manager, then you crack on. But it's clear to everybody that we were improving year on year under him. The only reason some Sunderland fans are obsessed with downplaying his ability is because they perceive his support to be over-the-top.

Of course its position. If you survive one year on 36 but go down next year on 42 points, you have failed and regressed. No, it's not just positions as league positions can be impacted by other teams playing in other games. The points you win or don't, the goals you score or concede, these are things you can judge yourself on.
Some seasons getting 45pts is enough to get top half, sometimes it isn't. Nowt you can do about it.
They're, at best, half the story.
Chronicle, takeover delayed;
NUFC court appeal to delay takeover, and club face new EFL owner' and directors' test if relegated
its absolutely nonsensical and typical arrogance .So everytime we finish above the mags they arent 'decently ran ' ."If Newcastle are decently ran.... They're not happy with the decision to keep one of the arbitration panel and are deciding whether to appeal the case they lost last week. If they appeal it would delay the start of arbitration and hence push back any overall outcome decision on the takeover. How can the delay it if the buyers walked away?

exactly. there's job at the pyongyang herald for a lot of them .Easy that we could just say when we finish below them its because we aren't decently ran.
Considering we've won more titles and have been the better team historically it makes more sense.
Nah it isn't stinky poo headTo be honest, I'd rather play teams with nowt to play for, than teams fighting for their lives, including the local rivals.
Benitez takes a portion of the blame, but the lion's shares go to Ashley and McClaren. And this season, should we go down, the lion's share of the blame will go to Ashley and Bruce, regardless of who's in charge come the final day. This isn't favoritism, it's just really simple, objective, reason.
That's the point, Steve McClaren was in charge for 24 games, had fixtures against all the relegation rivals, money spent in the summer and the winter on players he wanted, and yet could only manage 24pts from 18 games. But, reading this forum, Schteve is never mentioned, the only person responsible for our relegation was Benitez, purely because the Newcastle fans liked him. It's incredibly juvenile.
THE prospects of Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabia-backed consortium resurrecting their interest inYou must be logged on to see external linkshave suffered a major blow after the Gulf state’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) entered into formal talks with Italian club Inter Milan.

Sources close to the Staveley camp have consistently claimed that a deal to buy Newcastle is not dead, but this week’s events in Italy appear to have significantly reduced the likelihood of last year’s proposed arrangement being dusted off and reoffered.
Weird. If Queen Amanda’s people said it wasn’t dead, then surely there couldn’t be any new problems?
I'm unsure. If you part own one club can you own another? Not certain of UEFA rules.sadly the Inter thing is a minority shareholding

The Saudis aren't coming back for them. That ship has sailed
Ship well sailed and the jizz has went crusty on the backs of the mags from when they pulled out.
