I love how football fans always know more about what players can do, than the manager and coaching staff who see these lads many times a week.

Do you really think you know more about the strengths of a player, and the tactics needed than a man with career in football, (as a player and manager) who sees these players day in, day out?

Bruce may be a crap manager, but I guarantee he knows more about players and their strengths than the average fan!
So he knew better, but was playing players out of position, in a broken system for a laugh?

I only go on what I see.
Having the injuries we have is massively unlucky in terms of losing the quality that can make a massive difference.
What I am saying is I believe Bruce's "methods" are instrumental in all the injuries his players seem to sustain.

Why would we thank him? He's the idiot who hasn't learned from his mistakes and got us into a relegation fight, again.

All he'd need to do to have a PL side, bringing in £100m+ every year, is appoint a good manager and leave the football up to him.
who's a good manager? all the clubs are bringing in 100m+, you'll be getting a bit more than some and a bit less than others.

I think Newcastle are better off injury wise than most sides, it's just the strength in depth is lacking. Not a reasonable excuse. It's the same stale rehashed myth they use any time someone not forrin coaches. A club with a Spanish/Italian coach has a crocked squad, the finger is never pointed their way.

Is Bruce a shite coach? Aye.

Is he at fault because ASM is made from easter egg boxes stuck together with masking tape and post-it notes? No.

If you rely on one striker, is it likely they'll not go through the whole season uninjured? Aye.

Well, Guardiola's not bad, not sure if we could tempt him though.

There are plenty of good managers out there who could do a better job within the same restrictions as Bruce.

Dunno, maybe. Howe seemed to struggle to organise a defence, but maybe he'd be a better shout than Bruce. He's certainly less of a dinosaur.
he relegated bournemouth after spending a fortune. in reality, outside the top half dozen or so, all the clubs are much of a muchness. even a decent manager (like howe seemed after a couple of seasons) would end up having a couple of bad seasons and possibly go down.

I see the Fish Wife is back for his weekly anialation.

No one in his right mind would join you with the way your fans go on like absolute knackers and your totally unrealistic expectations. Ashley will be there running HIS club the way HE wants to until he dies. Then you'll get his son. The antics of your fans towards the takeover has been nothing short of disgraceful and every other club hates you. We've been saying it for years and now everyone else sees it. Deluded morons with no moral compass. Imagine begging murderers to buy you man. You should be f***ing ashamed of yourselves.

There must be something he sees in them in training and in conversations with them for him to think that is the best position and system for them.

Something that neither you or I are privy to.

Bruce has had a career in football, and has probably more experience in the professional game than everyone on this board put together. Is he the best manager in the world, no. But does he know more about that squad, and the way a professional football side works than you or the rest of your fans?

I reckon so.

He is not going out there to lose matches. My suggestion is maybe the players aren't as good as you lot think they are

There is that risk, or you employ a good manager and he gets poached by a bigger club. But just like you should be scouting replacement players, you should have in mind replacement managers/coaches. A list of people who play the same kind of football as the incumbent, who you could attract.

I think you give him too much credit. If he saw anything in playing Joelinton up front, on his own, for much of last season it was lost on me, the Newcastle fans, the pundits, the journalists and the wider public.

Almiron is a number 10, but he's been played as a winger, a central midfielder and as a forward. Hendrick is a 2x4 plank, but has been played as an actual footballer...

Bruce is out of touch, out of luck and hopefully out of a job soon.

I suspect the thread merge has taken it out of context. The mags didn't really suffer the potential consequences of no wage-cut last time, as they kept a load of players and won the league, and the bastard quite enjoyed doing so.

We on the other hand kept our big contract players and sent most of them out on loan, whilst the rest of the shite that was left got relegated.
